  • 931: From Tragedy to Confidence With Kristina Corpin-Moser
    Jan 20 2026
BioKristina Corpin-Moser is the Executive Director of Filipino BC.Cultural BackgroundKristina is of FIlipino, Canadian, Austrian and Jewish descent.Favorite Self Confidence QuoteTransitions, big or small, are rarely straightforward. They require abandoning the parts of ourselves that feel safe and familiar. It is a massive task to intentionally choose change over comfort. But it taught me to trust myself more and embrace the shifts.Definition of Self ConfidenceSelf-confidence is having the knowledge or assurance of your ability mixed with humility and curiousity. Her Life Before the Discovery of Self ConfidenceKristina mentioned that ignorance can be bliss—it’s easier to ignore being told you don’t belong when you don’t know any better or aren’t aware that you’ve been excluded from those spaces. The “AHA” MomentKristina had more than one AHA moment. The first one was when she had the first Lapu Lapu festival in Vancouver and it became a success. This was proof of how capable she was in creating something and turning it into a success. The second AHA moment was when a tragedy happened during the 2nd Lapu Lapu Festival. This gave another kind of confidence and it also showed her that through her struggles from this tragic event, she was able to stumble into her strength. Her Life After the Discovery of Self ConfidenceKristina still feels some hardships from the tragic event but she also felt the Filipino term Kapwa which means shared identity, oneness with others, and fellow humanity. She witness people taking care of each other and making sure that everyone was okay after the tragedy. Kristina is also more vulnerable and more principled as well. The One Self Confidence Tip for the ListenerYou are enough.Borrow courage: join rooms that stretch you; mentors and peers are force multipliers.Do one brave thing daily: a pitch, a boundary, a request. Confidence compounds.Own your lens: your background is not a detour; it’s your differentiation.Regulate your body: sleep, hydration, and whole foods make courage sustainable.Interview LinksKristina's WebsiteFacebookInstagramLinkedInIf you would like to connect with Sheena, here is the following:Connect with me: Facebook | Twitter | Instagram | Tiktok | LinkedIn | YouTube | WebsiteP.S. • 930: Why the VISIBLE™ Framework Is a Leadership Must in 2026
    Jan 6 2026

As we move into 2026, leadership is being redefined. Confidence alone is no longer enough. Talent alone is no longer enough. In a world shaped by hybrid work, digital visibility, and perception-driven influence, leaders must know how to be seen, heard, and trusted—intentionally.

In this solo episode, Wall Street Journal bestselling author and TEDx speaker Sheena Yap Chan breaks down why visibility has become a core leadership competency and why the VISIBLE™ Framework is no longer optional for leaders and organizations. Drawing from her work and insights from her book Bridging the Confidence Gap, Sheena explains why so many capable leaders are still being overlooked—and how visibility bridges the gap between confidence, credibility, and influence.

This episode explores the seven pillars of the VISIBLE™ Framework—Voice, Identity, Spotlight, Inner Work, Belief, Leverage, and Elevation—and how each one shows up in real leadership environments today. You’ll also hear a powerful reframe on self-promotion, why it’s not ego but responsibility, and what leaders must unlearn to lead effectively in 2026 and beyond.

Whether you’re an executive, founder, emerging leader, or part of an organization thinking about the future of leadership, this episode will challenge how you think about confidence, presence, and what it truly means to lead in a visible world.

    Reflection question:

Where in your leadership are you confident—but not visible?

  • 929: Confidence Through Culture With Angela Zeng
    Dec 23 2025
BioDr. Angela Zeng is the founder and CEO of Karviva Wellness Beverages and co-founder of Fulfill Food & Beverages.Cultural BackgroundAngela is of Chinese descent.Favorite Self Confidence QuoteCourage is not the absence of fear, but the decision that something else is more important.Definition of Self ConfidenceSelf-confidence is a quiet trust in your values and the skills you’ve earned, allowing you to act with clarity even when outcomes are uncertain. It’s not loud—it’s steady, teachable, and renewed through disciplined action and lifelong learning. Her Life Before the Discovery of Self ConfidenceLike many highly educated women, Angela chased perfection: publications, protocols, external validation. As a new immigrant woman in science and business, she often minimized her voice, waited for permission, and believed she had to be flawless before she moved. The “AHA” MomentAngela's turning point came during a painful family mental-health crisis that reminded her: healing requires patience and presence, not perfection. She stopped trying to please everyone and started truly serving. She also overcame the fear of honoring Traditional Eastern Healing Wisdom in a society where many still hesitate to trust other cultures. Angela built Karviva around real needs—gentle, low-sugar nourishment—and leaned into my cross-cultural lens. Her Life After the Discovery of Self ConfidenceSince then, Angela has led with more courage, set boundaries confidently, and measured success by impact: customers who feel better, employees who grow, and communities we educate. The One Self Confidence Tip for the Listener Collect evidence: keep a “wins” log: data builds belief.Borrow courage: join rooms that stretch you; mentors and peers are force multipliers.Do one brave thing daily: a pitch, a boundary, a request.
