Publisher's Summary

When Claudette McPhearson died, she left eight foster children to fend for themselves after they discovered the truth about her secret life. She was the leader of the Syndicate, a criminal enterprise that had a stronghold on the underworld. Much to her children's chagrin, it was up to one of them to step up and take the lead.

Javon, her oldest and most trusted son, took on that mantle. It was a role he had never wanted, but with threats to his family coming from every direction, he had no choice. One year later, Javon has taken the Syndicate to the next level. Javon seems untouchable, and the Syndicate can't be stopped, but as it grows, it draws attention. This time, it's from the Commission, the ruling body of the world's most dangerous mafias.

"You scratch my back and I'll scratch yours" comes into play as the Old Italian needs Javon's help. The Commission has been threatened, and they call on the Syndicate for reinforcements. The Syndicate aims to help its allies, but the past comes knocking at the McPhearsons' door. With everything coming full circle, Javon will find that not everyone can be trusted, and ghosts from the past always have a way of coming back to haunt you.

Love the performance! story wasn't great.

I loved the performance, as I've growned to appreciate books with multiple readers, in fact this series introduces ed me to that, I just thought the story was a little predictable, and cartoonish at times.

Great Read - Needs a Part 4

Like most of his books, they draw you in and make you feel as if you're there on scene with the characters.

Doesn't Disappoint

The conclusion to the Syndicate series ( I am assuming this is the last book but you never know) doesn't disappoint. It was exciting to learn the beginnings of how the Syndicate started as well as the answer to some of mysteries from books 1 & 2. The pace was good and the narrators were excellent. Enough of the backdrop was given so that even if you didn't read the other books in the series, you would still be drawn in, follow, and enjoy this book. I would highly recommend.

Syndicate

I LOVED the first Syndicate book. The second was good. But this third was mediocre at best. Really bummed that the original book has sequels that don’t measure up.

Despite my issues with the book, the reading is amazing!!! Best cast ever! Great job, actors!!!

Narrator

I got somewhat lost in this book but what bothered me the most is that the narrator changed the way she pronounced Navy's name in the 3rd book verses the first 2 books

1-2-3 Syndicate

Carl Weber doesn’t disappoint in this series of a family legacy that is driven by survival of the streets. It’s also a story about the love of a man and woman that sets a frame of strength and growth to all the children around them. To hear a teenager articulate “what is the strength of a man or woman”. Guiding these morals and humility in a youth was phenomenal. To read about a women fully engaged as the Queen in the relationship - totally respected and held next to her King. Alpha male and female that left a powerful legacy to their children.
