An Unexpected Treat and a heck of a story.

Where does The Star-Touched Queen rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This is an audiobook I will listen to again and again. This is one of my top 10 favorites I've ever listened to.

What did you like best about this story?

The interweaving of fairytales and mythological stories with a new story. The plot is interesting and unexpected.

What does Priya Ayyar bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

The names of characters can be hard to figure out in your head. Having a seasoned narrator take on the names was helpful.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Expect to get lost and never want to return.

Beautiful Retelling!

This book was amazing! This is one on of my top favorites books now! Loved the story and the writing was wonderful. This audio book was a joy to listen to and flew this narration in a matter of 2 short days. For anyone who liked The Wrath and the Dawn you will absolutely love this book.

I loved the colorful descriptions of the magical places in this book. The characters were interesting.

different but amazing

this a story of lies and hopes. lies of false and hope of remembering love. at some point if was, funny,sad and heart warming. narration was great and fit the story lines. this book isn't a cliffhanger but hoping there would be another book about there life

I tired to read this book but just could not get into it but loved it this way!

Absolutely magical

This book was absolutely INCREDIBLE. The writing is beyond this world and I seriously need more.

Enjoyable, Relaxing

I think this story had a strong start. Hinted at great powers, subtle forces moving beyond the control of the main character!

But the main story was a little flatter. Mind you, it was still a pretty enjoyable listen. It wasn't very demanding of the listener. And it's great to have a fantasy YA novel that takes place somewhere other than fake-Europe.

I recommend listening to it. But I probably won't listen to it twice

Beautifully written.

This book almost seemed like two different books from part one to part two. Both were written with such beautiful weaving of words I was captured immediately.

Maya is on a journey of discovery. She learns the strength she has within as well as details into her past that help explain her present.

The world building was at time difficult to keep up with. I listened via the Audible narration to most of this book and sometimes had to reread on my kindle to catch all the details.

If you enjoy fantasy and worlds that capture a culture so beautifully pick up this book.

Imaginative

I liked the way the story seems to be going in one direction and then changes into something unexpected. The path Maya takes of rediscovery and forgiveness made the story satisfying. I also liked that Amar is faithful and deeply in love from the beginning. Unlike his counterparts in other mythologies he cares about other people.
As far as the writing is concerned, I enjoyed the imagery to a point. It took over at times, and occasionally it made no sense. The magic of the story seems to have no rules or logic to it, which may be authentic to the folklore of the culture?
