Publisher's Summary

Penguin presents, this downloadable, unabridged audiobook edition of the second title in this number one, bestselling spin-off series from Percy Jackson creator, Rick Riordan. This crazy messed up world of gods and monsters is Percy Jackson's reality, which pretty much sucks for him. Percy Jackson, son of Poseidon, God of the Sea, has woken from a very deep sleep and come face to face with two snake-haired ladies who refuse to die.

But they're the least of his problems. Because Percy finds himself at a camp for half-bloods, which doesn't ring any bells for him. There's just one name he remembers from his past. Annabeth. Only one thing is certain - Percy's questing days aren't over. He and fellow demigods Frank and Hazel must face the most important quest of all: The Prophecy of Seven. If they fail, it's not just their camp at risk. Percy's old life, the gods, and the entire world might be destroyed...

Rick Riordan does it again!!

I am constantly amazed by these books and how ever more exciting they become, I recommend these books to everyone if you're even the slightest into Greek mythology. The voice acting is fantastic as well, definitely a winner for me.

Better performance by Swanson than before

It took me a while to get used to Swanson. He reads in a more serious tone than the previous reader in the PJ-series. But he did a much better job here than in the previous book! loved it.

Good start to the second series:

As good as the previous series, bringing in new characters and monsters. As the prophecy unfolds what else has been kept from our heroes?

Great story, really well told

Loved this book as I have loved listening to all Rick Riordan's work to this point. First person novels annoy me when I read them, but as an audiobook, when told as well as Joshua Swanson does here, they are brilliant. Best audiobook series since listening to harry potter for me.

I love the story

Swanson needs to be more expressive though. Especially with Hazel and Frank as their voices changed throughout the book a bit.

Loved every bit of it

Rick Riordan incorporates mythology in such interesting way that you get lost in this world of demigods and monsters. Even though it had a slowish start, I liked that Percy and the readers have a chance to have a proper look around the new camp “Jupiter”, which is very different than the greek “Half-Blood” we used to know and love. We got to know a lot of new characters, I liked that there was plenty of background story presented, so we can have a chance to connect with Hazel & Frank. Also, Percy is making a comeback. During this book we get to learn about the Roman gods (I enjoyed Mars’ character more than I thought I would). Absolutely hilarious fast-paced adventure with charming protagonists, a fast page turner with a gripping plot. The book is an absolute treat.

Great all round.

Love Rick Riordan's story's, the best out there! The narrator is quite annoying at first and does mispronounce words and names - but you get used to it after a while and isn't really an issue over time. Would recommend this second book in this series!

Amazing story, average narration

I love all the stories from Riordan, he is a fantastic author but the narrator kinda kills it for me, ive listened to the sample of the mark of Athena and the author who takes over also sounds uninteresting. Matching the right narrator/s to the right stories I’m sure isn’t easy but come on
