Sainte Nore does not want to be a farmer. He does not want to be a trader or a store owner. He wants to be a Blade of the Night. He wants to fight the ravenous beasts they call Malignin; to defend Crearia from them.

That’s why, when he turns seventeen, he does just that. Recently single, he leaves his family and everything he knows behind to go through Training to become a Blade. Sainte is determined to do what it takes to graduate, no matter who or what tries to get in his way.

But when Training is almost over, he is given a unique assignment.

One that changes everything.

OK, I thoroughly enjoyed this! First off I think this narrator was absolutely perfect for this book! His voice gave me the vibes that this prequel gave me off the top of the bat! I don’t think you could’ve picked a better narrator, and his voice captivated me and just pulled me straight into the story! The story itself I thought was really great and I have no complaints! All around a great production on audio and story wise!!

Perfect narrator

I really enjoyed this prequel to The Severance Trilogy. It really sheds light on Saints journey to becoming the Shield. I really appreciate a good back story. The narrator was very good doing a variety of different character voices. (I will say I found the voice of Saints parents to be a bit cheesy but you only hear from them in the first chapter) I look forward to finishing the rest of the series.

Enjoyable
