A wee bit of Irish

A new client hires Amelia to find her grandparents, we go to Ireland where we learn about the culture, traditions, history and the food. We also meet some colorful characters and once again narrator Diane Lehman gives a spectacular performance. Amelia is still trying to fight her feelings for Rick…but read the book to find out how Rick pushes the issue! I also enjoyed listening to the authors notes.

The Shamrock Case

A great mystery Amelia and Rick get a case to find family. There are twists and turns to this mystery that had me hooked from the first page to the last. It had me on the edge of my seat. The story building is fantastic as well as the Character building, if you are a lover of mysteries this is definitely one I loved this is the second read in the series.

Sweet, Simple, Romantic Mystery

This was a sweet and simple romantic mystery. Amelia Moore and her detective partner Rick Bonito head to Ireland to search for their client’s biological grandparents. This is book 2 of the Amanda Moore detective series. While I did not read book 1, this book stands on its own.

Amelia and Rick are both very likable characters. It was fun to see how their relationship is evolving. The plot is rather simple but it is very enjoyable. It is a good, clean story. This book would be very appropriate for teens and even preteens. It reminded me of the Nancy Drew books I read as a kid.

I received the Audible version of this book in exchange for an honest review and I do think that the narration enhanced the book. The narrator did a good job with the voices except for the youngest and the oldest of the characters.

Sweet little mystery!

I liked that this one wasn't about "catching the bad guy" but about helping a girl find her family. This is a good clean, sweet and fun mystery with a little romance on the side.

I love how Amelia and Rick work together. They are a great team! I am getting quite attached to these two. Amelia has good instincts when it comes to what she does best - detective work. And Rick is great at what he does best - protecting and loving Amelia! I like how this series is very slowly building their relationship.

I love all the talk and descriptions about the food and Rick's love of it! It's cute. Linda has done a great job with the character development and keeping up the personalities throughout the books. Also , equally important is how some of the themes are traveling through the series - the bucket lists, their budding romance etc. Each book is a nice continuation of their lives but also each book could be read alone with no problem.

If you would like a nice sweet romantic cozy mystery - you should try one of the books in this series. I also think these books would be good for a teenager. They are clean and interesting enough to keep your attention.

The Audio - I thought the reader did a great job with all the different accents! She is definitely a talented reader.

Thank you Linda for sending me this Audio copy of your book for my honest review!

Romance, mystery, and travel. Oh my!

This was another sweet and cute mystery detective book in the Amelia Moore Detective Series. Though I think you could read this book without having read the first in the series, I appreciated seeing how the relationship between the two lead characters develops, seeing the continuation of the theme of the "bucket list," and getting to know the characters develop. This is a very clean book - no foul language or sex scenes, which I appreciate. I liked the setting, which takes place in Ireland, and hearing about the different things to do there, as the main characters were visiting many "tourist attractions" to check off items on their respective bucket lists. There is also a twist at the end, which I loved, and it just made the whole story even better. I listened to the Audible audiobook and enjoyed the narration. The narrator has good pacing and differentiates between the characters well. If you are looking for a nice, clean book, and you like mystery and travel, I suggest giving this book (or this series) a try.

Love the Ireland setting

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Absolutely, it's a good, clean mystery with enough to keep you guessing the whole way through.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Shamrock Case?

The surprise twist towards the end that I did NOT see coming

Have you listened to any of Diane Lehman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes, they were similar. Both very good. The only comment I would have is she did the main male voice a big arrogant. He came off kind of like a big-headed jerk because of the way she read his lines.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I smiled lots and shook my head in disbelief a few times.

Any additional comments?

I loved the Ireland background. I've never been there but I sure feel like I have been now!

The Shamrock Case

Where does The Shamrock Case rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Among the top.

The Shamrock Case combines great narration with good plot , likeable characters, and most importantly, a strong heroine which is a must in any book/audiobook.

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot kept me intrigued and made me listen on .

'The Shamrock Case' is the second book in the Amelia Moore Detective Series .

I didn't read the first book (yet) but didn't feel like I was missing important information. It's important to me to be able to jump into a book, which is part of a series and understand what is going on. Linda Weaver Clarke knows how to draw the reader into her book.

There is a mystery to solve, Amelia and Rick travel to Ireland to do so. There are twists and turns but no un necessary angst or drama.

I loved the foreign setting, it translated well in the audiobook , you could distinguish one character from the next and feel like you were in Ireland.

Have you listened to any of Diane Lehman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I haven't listened to other audiobooks narrated by Diane Lehman, but will do so in the future.

Diane narrates each character in a unique way that makes it easier to follow the progress of the book. Loved her narration of the Irish characters and the sound effects (loved Rick's whistle).

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

I loved the fact Amelia is the protagonist. She owns the detective agency while Rick works for her.

I loved the fact Amelia makes her own decisions, she isn't controlled by Rick or made to look as an inept detective. She is a professional and is the one to solve the mystery.

I loved the maturity lever of the characters. They talked about the personal relationship between them and how it affects their working relationship.

They are two people who know who they are and what they want, no immature drama or angst.

Any additional comments?

I recommend 'The Shamrock Case' to any reader who likes a well written book that combines mystery, romance, strong heroine and confident hero.

I've never been disappointed :)

If you could sum up The Shamrock Case in three words, what would they be?

Fun, educational, adventure

What did you like best about this story?

The reader did a great job at voices and in making us feel the tension of specific scenes as well as getting us interested in the case and the main characters.

Which scene was your favorite?

When they went to kiss the Blarney Stone and explore the castle.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

When the family came together and they realized the connection between everyone and Kate got to meet the family she never knew she had.

Any additional comments?

The story was really good too, excepting that when it came down to the "final fight" or the last battle between good and evil, I liked the way it was described as though it was in a fairy tale with the knight and the pirate and all, that was super cute and a fun idea, however it was written too much with that same dream-like quality so I never got into it - I wasn't worried about the character or the hero. I would have liked to have been a bit worried about the hero or wondered if the bad guy might do something dangerous, but I didn't.
But overall I loved the story, the culture, the experience, and the mystery. I really would recommend this book. Linda Weaver Clarke is a fantastic writers and I've never been disappointed in her books.

A Sweet & Fun Cozy Mystery set in IRELAND!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This particular installment is set almost entirely in Ireland and, as in the previous book which was mostly set in Bali, the locale plays a large part in the story. After listening to the first two books in this series, each has made me feel that I'm on tour in the region where each tale occurred. I have always wanted to visit Ireland and the author's writing vividly paints each scene so I feel as if I'm really there.

What was one of the most memorable moments of The Shamrock Case?

I love the travel guide feel of these books. I can't just pick one of these as I enjoyed every experience. This time, I learned things about the Blarney Stone that I didn't know and felt like I was the one kissing it! I attended a live Irish concert and a River Dance and visited a castle! Also, their dining choices had my stomach growling.

"One cannot think well, love well, or sleep well, if one has not dined well."

Have you listened to any of Diane Lehman’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

I had previously enjoyed Diane Lehman's performance of the previous book, The Bali Mystery. Her voice has been pleasant and clear each time. For The Shamrock Case, she exhibited an Irish brogue that sounded genuine to me. Her male and female voices were differentiated as before and I love her singing voice. This time she sang Irish ballads. (Last time, she sang a Bali melody.) I would not hesitate to pick up another book that she has performed.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I would have loved to but couldn't. However, I did find myself adding to my workouts as I tried to fit in more listening time.

Any additional comments?

If you enjoy clean, entertaining romances with a bit of a mystery that won't leave you biting you nails and with a strong travel guide feel, you really need to check out this series. I can't wait to see how Amelia's and Rick's relationship develops in the next book! THE MISSING HEIR will be taking readers to Mexico! Hola Amigos!
