OK if you are not looking for anything deep.

Some spoilers, so reader beware. The overall concept of this book was quite good. However the writing was absolutely juvenile. The two main characters were teenagers, and as is usual in many of these stories, they did so many stupid things, one after another, that after a while you just wanted to slap them in the head and tell them that they got what they deserved. I find it hard to believe that even teenagers could be that dumb.
How is it possible that the police, FBI, CIA, and military want you so badly that they are willing to kill anyone to get to you, and do it repeatedly right in front of you, yet you can't get it through your head that its not smart to go into a McDonalds just because you are hungry or want to go to the bathroom? You mean you really can't understand that you shouldn't tell your story to random girls, no matter how hot they are or how short their pants are? And you have to argue and go against every single sensible precaution your adult guardians tell you? Hard to believe.
Overall it was OK. But this is not a serious book for adults.

Good read no surprises

This is a fun syfy read but there aren't any novel surprises or creative concepts. Also it's hard to believe that 40k hasn't evolved beings more than what they are (no spoilers)... the author does avoid belaboring points and over-detailing unlike some books. I will read the next in the series... so it is that good.

Seriously?

Wanted to like this book. Narration was very good. The characters suck beyond measure. Thoughtless meets stupid with hybrid aliens whose only chance for survival is the authors lack of a solid reality check. Brutally juvenile. If the book is intended for very young readers, it should be moved to the 8-14 year old section though in todays world they might think the story idiotic as well…..

Tries up everything

Rarely do I find a compelling book that is so complete. All conspiracy theories and legends of the real world are explained. If it’s aliens, Atlantis, saucers, telepathy, it’s all here and explained. A very fun read.

Not a book for adults

I thought this was going to be a good sci fi for adults but it read like a childrens book. The hero Jayden behaved like a typical spoiled, belligerent teenager. Listened to the end but no real enjoyment.

Slow burner, but a good yarn once it gets going

When I bought this book I didn't realise it was aimed at Young Adults, probably why I saw it advertised on Facebook! If can get over even the adults talking as the teenagers in the story do, then it does have an interesting end to the tale, which makes it worthwhile. Will probably buy the next book in what would appear to be a series!
