Publisher's summary

The moment that changes everything....

Henrietta Gaydon is making her debut in London society for the Season, but her popularity and apparent ease disguises the fact that she is out of her depth and that she dreads the objective of finding a husband. She longs for home, her father and Lord Henfield, whom she has always treated as an older brother.

Charles Henfield stopped thinking of Henrietta like a sister when she was sixteen and he is determined to try his luck with her in London. Mistakes and misunderstandings, the complication of a feud between families, and Henrietta’s no longer fraternal feelings for Henfield, all conspire to make this a Season to remember.

I thoroughly enjoyed this charming story

I’ve listen to all of Georgette Heyer books - several times. I’m very happy to have stumbled across Sophia Holloway, who also writes charming, witty, regency romances.

I can’t tell you what a RELIEF it was to have an entertaining story whose author was not preoccupied with describing the state of the characters body parts and how they lusted after each other, ad nauseam. So sick of books who rely on THAT instead of a decent story.

The Season does not have a complicated plot, but there are intrigues, clever dialogue, and I found it totally engaging. The narrators voice was very pleasant to listen to. Set the character perfectly.

I probably should give this book five stars but I like to reserve “5” for epic, WOW novels. I don’t give many. But I highly recommend The Season.

fun and entertaining

halloway's fun and witty dialogue very enjoyable, so rare these days. Narrator good at many voices, but Matt Addis better. narrator should not whisper in between bits of dialogue.

Disappointing narrator and mediocre story.

The story is predictable.
The narrator makes no difference among the characters' voices. In addition she does not pay attention to punctuation so that the lines are read with the emphasis on the wrong word reducing prose to stanzas; including unnecessary abrupt pauses.
