Best book I've listened in a while ❣️. Very visually stunning and detailed storyline. 1st book was great

Hot take on history

Adventure is not my preferred kind of romance. The history was a kind of revisionism of historical attitudes to match today’s. the behavior of the heroine more 21st century morality plunked into the middle of an earlier century. I’m sure some will enjoy it, and Fenna Edgewood has written romantic fiction I enjoy, but eventually the plot did not hold my interest maybe it was the melodrama that turned me off of it. The characters lost their edge, and I quit reading. She has created some interesting characters in other novels but these not so interesting to me.

For someone who likes that kind of Romance, many popular writers write like this and many people like that style. So pirates, lectures about the evils of slavery, cute dogs and cats. Brooding damaged hero. This might be the right book for you.
