Publisher's summary

Scene Stealer (noun): an actor who attracts attention when another is intended to be the center of attention.

The glow of fame only casts shadows. The name Devyn Dane was once lit up amongst the stars. Everyone worshiped me. But now, I’m on the edge of darkness. No one warned me about the fall. My crash was lethal. These days I’m nothing more than a forgotten child star with a tainted reputation.

Redemption is what I need. When a chance is handed to me, I vow not to blow it - I can’t. This could launch me back to stardom. But nothing is given freely in Hollywood. Everything comes with a price. This time, mine is a bombshell waitress battling insecurities deep enough to rival even my own.

The resilient Larsen is a mystery I can’t wait to unravel. Her brokenness makes me feel not so alone. But together, we are a complete mess that should never work. I know it, Hollywood knows it, and someone is hell-bent on making sure we don’t beat the odds.

I truly believed she was my ally. An added boost on my rise back to fame. But the shine of Hollywood masks many things. She broke my focus, pulling me away from the most important goal.

That’s the thing with a scene stealer - you never see them coming.

The Scene Stealer

Good story with a little mystery. A few moments where one of the MCs does/believes something stupid. Love both narrators.

Excellent book!

Renee Harless has woven a wonderful story of two people from very different worlds who find each other by accident. Or maybe fate.

Devin has been an actor since he was a child and he did what many child stars do as they get older... and now he’s trying to rebuild his career. Enter Lawson, a young woman living in a small town who hides herself away because of scars she has from an accident. Devin ends up in this small town when he has car trouble... and his life may never be the same.

Tim Paige and Kelsey Navarro are so good!!! Love their voices.

Larsen and Devyn

This is a great story of love and lacking confidence due to tragedy. Inability to trust plays a part as well and also a bit of danger. Narrators were great!

A good recipe for an interesting book

I greatly enjoyed this one! It was sweet and sexy, with a bit of suspense and lots of swoony moments. From small town to big city, from bowling night to shooting day, there was a bit of everything. A good recipe for an interesting book.

Devyn, who drowns his sorrow in alcohol, and Larsen, whose body shows the scars of a terrible past, make a beautiful couple. If it wasn’t for the whole “we come from two different worlds” thing, their story would have been boring. That’s how good they are together.

Of course, it couldn’t be so easy. They encounter many obstacles--press eager to paint her as a monster, fake relationship for publicity, threatening letters from an anonymous enemy. Will they stay together in the end? You’ll have to read the book to know.

The book was read by a male and a female narrators, and they were gooooood. They certainly help with the whole experience.

Some things could have been better written--like the subplot about Devyn’s parents, or the interview-that-never-was (I’d like to know how they pulled it off)--but I still liked this cliché story of a Hollywood star and the waitress.

Enjoyable story!

Devyn and Larsen will both steal your heart in The Scene Stealer.
I had the opportunity to not only enjoy this wonderful story but I had the privilege of listening to the audio version.
This book is a perfect combination of fantastic characters and an interesting storyline. Devyn thought that rebuilding his fame would bring him happiness but when he meets Larsen he finally realizes what he has been missing and what true happiness can be.

Loved this!

I absolutely adored Larsen and Devin. I loved their chemistry from the get go!

This book was so well written and narrated. I love audio books because it really brings more feeling into the story and i think if i read this first, i wouldn't have felt any of the emotions properly.

I can't wait for more!!!

Great Story and Narration

I loved these characters when I read the book and listening to them come alive through Tim Paige and Kelsey Navarro only added to my love of Devyn and Larsen.

Devyn is the typical child actor grown up and gone astray. Problems with parents, drugs, alcohol - all of it. When he needs to get away he takes off driving and ends up on a little town in the middle of nowhere.

Larsen is fighting her own demons, but trying to move her life forward. Taking college classes as she can and helping her uncle through his own heartbreak.

They never expected to be what each other needed. It was supposed to be a fling.

This book is so much more than what it appears to be. Some will see a simple love story, but if you let it, it will resonate deep inside to that spot we all want to have filled with that one person that makes us complete.

Tim Paige where have you been my whole life!?

Goodness!! This was my second title that I have listened to narrated by Tim Paige and now I freaking love him. This role was so great for him and I saw a lot more range than the other title that I had listened to. That man sure knows how to say a certain 4-letter word that starts with F. This book was great, I loved the depth of characters and their rise to overcome their backgrounds. Kelsey is such a professional and one of my favorite female narrators. Paired with Tim...it was just out of this world. I need more of these two STAT!!!

Beautiful Story

The Scene Stealer is a well-written, contemporary second chance romance. It's a riveting tale about two broken people taking a chance on love. A Hollywood actor and a waitress. They are on the opposite spectrums; one hides in the shadows, and the other shines in the spotlight. Yet, they both striving to find their place in the world. Renee Harless's exceptional writing and her phenomenal characters captivated me from the very start to the end.

The dual narration by Tim Paige and Kelsey Navarro is outstanding. They both captured the essence of the characters and poignancy of the scenes, I am wholly impressed. I was given a free copy of this audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

Tim and Kelsey narrating in dual narration- say no more

I’m coming off a long haul of listening to some very dark books so this one came off really tame for me 😬 yes there was angst but I wanted to scream at Devyn for not trusting Larsen a few times in the book! I know they both had some awful things happen to them from their family members but I had hoped that the trust was stronger, he really didn’t show much trust at all until the end. Sure he wanted her and she wanted what she could from him but even that kinda Peed me off. An enjoyable book yet wanted more grit, definitely a great easy listen and a HEA that was predictable but enjoyable all the same.

It was my first listen to Tim Paige and I can feel the connection he has in doing narration with Kelsey, there styles mesh together seamlessly and I will seek other collaborations between them.

I was so lucky to have won this audiobook from the author and this review reflects my opinions only.

lovely story, two fabulous narrators

I have just finished the audio version of this book and I loved it, it was fabulous!

It has made me laugh, cry and swoon, it was full of heart and emotion. Both Devyn and Larsen have been betrayed by the people who should love them most, so trust comes hard for both of them, until fate brings them together. But Hollywood is a fickle place, could the media attention be too much for Larsen as she starts to come out of her self imposed shell?

Larsen was such a beautiful woman, but life and people can be so cruel to a person with such visible scars and she tried hard to stay hidden in the background, until Hollywood star Devyn burst into her life. My heart broke for her and her history. Devyn hasn't had it easy either, these two just fitted together like a jigsaw. They saw the real them beneath the masks they each wore and it warmed my heart how they calmed each others storm, despite someone deviously trying to keep them apart.

It is told in dual pov and the two narrators were fantastic, so expressive and perfect for each character. I'd definitely listen to or read more from this author as she gave the story depth and feeling all the way through.

The heart stealer listen

This story will have your heart on a platter and deliver a delight . This author wrote a strong story which is full of love , getting your priorities straight, full of mystery and making the right decisions. This story is about 2 broken souls that feel that they aren’t loved, they feel that they aren’t meant for happiness, till they meet each other. They meet each other by chance the way fate meant them to . The town was very small, in the part of road that nobody travelled .
Hero is Devlyn . Heroine is Larsen .
Devlyn is an actor that has to stop drinking to make it big . But when he finds out his parents want to see him again he just takes off . Larsen is living in a small town with her uncle . She’s survived a real bad accident and she’s scared all over . Larsen goes into herself and just survive without joy . Once they get closer someone starts sending Larsen threatening letters about her life . Once the couple gets closer the letters get more threatening but not only for Larsen buy for Devlyn . This is a beautiful story about surviving and learning to find out happiness.

Tim Paige and Kelsey Navarro performance was great. They did the tone for each character was great . They make you go right into the story

I enjoyed this story

I really enjoyed this book. The characters are great and are going through some really tough situations in life. My heart went out to Devyn and Larsen. I can’t imagine being an addict or having scars so horrible on me that they are painful. There are many ups and downs. Just a little angst. Nothing too bad. A very interesting story. The narration was great I definitely recommend this book.

Fantastic listen!!!

This Hollywood romance is one that you don’t want to miss out on. The story provides romance mixed with a bit of suspense that keeps you listening to the very end. Tim and Kelsey did a fantastic job bringing the characters to life and conveying their story. Highly recommended listen!!!
