Publisher's Summary

Nicolas Fox is a charming con man and master thief on the run. Kate O'Hare is the FBI agent who is hot on his trail. At least that's what everyone thinks. In reality Fox and O'Hare are secretly working together to bring down super criminals the law can't touch. Criminals like brutal casino magnate Evan Trace.

Evan Trace is running a money-laundering operation through his casino in Macau. Some of his best customers are mobsters, dictators, and global terrorists. Nick and Kate will have to go deep undercover as high-stakes gamblers, wagering millions of dollars - and their lives - in an attempt to topple Trace's empire.

It's a scam that will take Fox and O'Hare from the Las Vegas strip to the sun soaked beaches of Oahu's North Shore and into the dark back alleys of Macau. Their only backup - a self-absorbed actor; a Somali pirate; and Kate's father, an ex-soldier who believes a rocket launcher is the best way to solve every problem. What could possibly go wrong?

Crazy cliffhanger, #5 better not take a year!

I love this series. Scott Brick does a great job bringing Nick & Kate to life. While this book felt like the job was a little rushed (almost like listening to an abridged version) I enjoyed every second up until (and including) the cliffhanger. With a cliffhanger like this one, it better not take a year to put out the next Fox and O'Hare book or that would be pure torture!

Another excellent book from Evanovich and Goldberg

I liked it more before Nick was caught and forced to go to work for the FBI. On the other hand Kate's dad Jake adds to the interest. Scott Brick is the perfect narrator for this series.

3 Stages: Enjoy, ho-hum, WOW!

I went through three stages reading this much anticipated continuation of the Fox and O'Hare series. First, it was good to welcome back all the quirky characters and listen to their unrealistic tales. Then it went into the scam upon scam upon scam section. It was a bit confusing and seemed to drag. The last 13 minutes of the book though - wow. I couldn't believe it was over. If you've liked the previous books, especially the relationship between Fox and O'Hare, this is a great read.

Another Addictive Wild Ride

I stumbled upon this series a couple of years ago and have enjoyed them immensely. I love the playful flirting on Nicks part and Kate's ultimately futile resistance. The story was suspenseful and action packed. I like the return of familiar characters, most especially father, Jake, and Boyd the delusional actor. Laugh out loud funny. I also love the names of the characters Nick uses, as a child of the 60's I recognize them all. In my mind if this series came to the small or large screen, I see him played by Matt Bomer (White Collar and Magic Mike!). I saw another reviewer who had the same idea. The end of this story left us with a serious cliff hanger regarding Nick, so I can't wait for the next installment. Evanovich and Goldberg make a great writing couple. Keep up the good work.

The Scam is my favorite in this series. The character have become well rounded and more likable. Can't wait for the next one. I hope Lee Goldburg and Janet Evanovich write quickly.

Great read!

The only thing I didn't like about The Scam is the cliffhanger ending...and that is only because I have to wait for the next installment! Great story. Great read!

Great installment that just kicked things up.

As always, Scott Brick did a fantastic job. The Scam serves up what you'd expect from a Fox/O'hare novel but this time the authors decided to kick things up a notch and prime what could be a fantastic sequel.

The Scam

Kate and Nick work together again, this time scamming money launderers. Various bad guys, some working through casinos and restaurants are Kate and Nick's targets. The scams are getting outrageous. There is more heat between the FBI agent and the conman. I love the ending.
