Welp, Tiffany D. Jackson does it again!

I was about to be so upset with her for this one. About a quarter of the way through, I almost DNF’d it. I felt that what was happening was too unrealistic. But something told me she was just messing with us and to hang in there. And I was so right; she played us again. Just like she did with both “Monday’s Not Coming” and “Allegedly”. This is what she does.

The Scammer is about a freshman girl (Jordyn) who decided to attend an HBCU instead of going to Yale. Once there, one of her dormmates moves her brother in with them. This brother (Devonte) is an ex-convict who manipulates and controls their every move. He reminded me of Korey Fields in one of her other book titled “Grown”. I remember disliking everyone at one point.

After one roommate comes up missing, Jordyn seeks help from the only white student on campus.

This is a fast-paced thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I can’t say much without spoiling it, but I was going to give this book about three stars. But the way the author turned it around and put two twists on us at the end elevated it to a five-star, but then the attitude of the MC at the end dropped it back down to a 4.25. I mean, is she a villain or a victim? Tiffany D. Jackson is one of my favorite authors. She is the queen of YA and an evil genius. I highly recommend reading it.

TDJ has done it AGAIN!

Every book I've read by TDJ has included twists and turns, and Scammer lived up to the author’s reputation of writing thrillers. What I thought I saw coming in Scammer isn't what came, and I’m still looking crazy after what I read. My goodness!

Just Wow! FLABBERGASTED 😮

When I say this book took me through it. The suspense was intense, the way I wanted to scream but that ended did it for me because you would never expect it! Just wow!

Ok… I wasn’t really sure how I felt about this story. I was annoyed with most of it, with DeVontae and the airheads that entertained his shenanigans. That literally lasted thru chapter 23. Then it got interesting and the remainder of the story kept me on edge. Definitely didn’t see the ending coming even with predicting Devontae’s role. Never saw the other twist and turns coming…so I’ll give it 4 stars. This is a first read for me with this author so I’ll be checking out another.

Shocking!

It started out a bit slow and I got really frustrated with some of the characters however, it all made sense at the end. Talk about a real shocker!

What a ride!

Powerful and thought provoking! I enjoyed this read and I was pleasantly surprised. Loved every bit of it!

The ending

Ms. Jackson you always find a way to have me on a rollercoaster ride with your writing. Baby the MFC was pissing me off beyond belief. This story truly unpacked a lot especially with freshman students on a college campus. When I say I love me some of Ms Tiffany and her YA Thrillers, I can’t get enough. Please put The Scammer on you next to read immediately!!!!

Just Wow!!!

I was ready to say I pray my daughter is never this gullible at college until I got to the last few chapters!! As an HBCU Graduate who has a daughter at Morgan, this had me glued from the first chapter! Because let me say with firsthand knowledge, Freshman are surely preyed on, and things like this absolutely can happen to them if they aren’t taught to love who they are, and speak up the moment it doesn’t feel right!!

A thriller that kept me on the edge of my seat
