Publisher's summary

Full of romance and humour, this is a book about fresh starts, friendship and the unexpected places we find happiness.

This is the story of two women.
One old, one young.
One looking for new adventures. One looking for a purpose.
Both needing a friend.

And this is how, along with two little girls in need of a family, a gorgeous stranger, and a scruffy dog, they bring the whole community together every Saturday morning for love, laughter and a little bit of running…(well, power walking).

Some people come into your life when you need them the most.

Almost gave up because of the narration but....

Well-developed characters and an interesting storyline. The narration really put me off at first. It's very over the top and the male protagonist voicing simply does not work. It settled down as time went on, and I was very sorry to hear this book end. Jules Wake is an excellent writer. The other thing that put me off at first was the opening story line--two twenty somethings meet and soon fall into bed with one another. Both seemed cliched as did the story at that point. I stuck it out because I'd read other Jules Wake books and am glad I did.

A thoroughly enjoyable book

Read during lockdown and uncertain times, when a bit of light reading and kindness lifted the spirits

Absolutely wonderful

Another wonderful book from Jules Wake.
A really heartwarming ( although at times heartbreaking) story
There are some lovely characters mostly ones you would love to know.... apart from one that needs a good shake. ( but don’t we all love to hate the bad “guy”)
Nicely narrated

Great book

I love Parkrun and enjoyed listening to this as a run. A romantic and tear jerking story of life, drama punctuated by running

Heartwarming story that’s good for your soul

Absolutely loved this book, Amazon suggested it to me and having recently set up a parkrun it seemed the perfect choice! I was so surprised it wasn’t just about parkrun but about love, how family isn’t always blood and also reevaluating life. Highly recommend this book to anyone, loved the characters, think I’ll actually miss them!

Gave up

I gave up unfortunately - personally found the voices very strange and off putting.
The meet and her over sexualised thoughts to a guy with a very dodgy voice was all to creepy.
Shame as I really wanted to enjoy

Happy

A book that was delightfully happy - I will read more of this author. I feel there is more to hear about these characters I’m sad it’s over!

Cute feel good story

Story is a feel good story. Narrator’s natural voice is good and easy to listen to but every other character was done in a voice that made them sound 90years old. I found it a bit over cooked. Her natural voice is lovely.
