Satisfying and exciting

I got through all four books in less than a month on my commute and had a blast listening. Piperbrook paints a terrifying picture that shines a light on the extremes of malice and bravery in times of desperation.

This series is for anyone who loves action and adventure stories, set against a horror backdrop. These books ex

Awesome Series! So sad it’s ended

I’d listen to anything Sean Runnette narrated as I pretty much have as he does such a great job. There are some books I couldn’t get into only because of the narrator not holding my attention. This whole series got you hooked on the characters as you cared for them and rooted for them to succeed. Can’t wait for Sandstorm! Hope Sean Runnette is narrating the new series!!

Mr. Piperbrook, you nailed it!

I'll start off by saying I never write reviews, I don't know why I just don't. Moving forward i would like to make an effort to do more, but this book/series is definitely worth taking a moment to praise in hopes that other listeners will be eager to devour it!

As for the book and series itself the best way to describe it is just WOW! I've read and listened to hundreds if not thousands of books and not once did I ever come as close to tears as I did in the final chapters of the ruins! The story arc kept me entertained from start to finish, the characters felt real and believable and of course Sean Runnette did his usual amazing narration.

One last thing, PLEASE bring us back to Brighton for a checkup on Fitz and the gang, even a single stand alone would help fill this void in me for more!

P.S I'll be checking out Dusty's Diary next, it'll be interesting to see this world from the beginning.

Loomis

Just excellent. Enjoyed the whole journey. Wonderful characters and story. Hated that it ended. Also, I am a big fan of Sean Runnette. He makes every book he reads my favorite.

Sad to see it end

Bray, Kirby, and William are still trapped in New City under the control of the Gifted. The Gifted are trying to make William one of their own but secretly he hates them and is planning to escape and free his friends who are being forced to work as slaves. Meanwhile, Kirby and Bray and planning a revolt with a group of other slaves who call themselves the shadow people. They would have to take out the guards and the plagued ones before they could even reach the tower to kill the Gifted and rescue William.

I am truly sad to see this series end. The first series, The Last Survivors, and this series, The Ruins, have been one of the best post-apocalyptic series I've listened to. I've been a fan since book one! Seeing the series end is like saying goodbye to a friend. I'm glad that Tyler Piperbrook left the ending open to the possibility of something more in the future. I'm looking forward to his future books. If they're as good as this, I'll love it! Sean Runnette has done an amazing job with both series. I'm glad the author kept this great talent throughout both series!
