Excellent plot, sometimes expected but sometimes unexpected, hot romance, though a tad long, and I love the narrator for all of his male voices, his female voice might be a little better

Loved it laughed till I couldn't laugh anymore and then did. could not wait to see what happens next.

Only issue w/ narrator: mostly, women's voices sounded more like children's - unusual for him.

Enjoyed this entire book very much. Thom is imperfect, yet an admirable & amazing character. Really like the interactions of childhood friends & how their different social classes in society impact them throughout their lives. Especially during the tumultuous war time. Great narration. Love this series. Hate I’m nearing the end of it. As always we get more than cameos of many characters from previous books in this series!

Tommy and Elizabeth -
As the war with the English is coming to an end and Robert the Bruce has the throne and is now trying to secure Scotland as a united nation. He is also trying to take back some of the greatest castles from English occupation. The Black Douglas has just taken Roxboro Castle and Sir Thomas Randolph is laying siege Edinburgh castle. With the siege taking longer than anticipated The Bruce and the Highland guard need a rock climber...Thomas Macgowen a lifetime friend to the Douglas family. Tommy is the son of the blacksmith and well beneath Elizabeth Douglas' station, but Tom is in love and nothing will stop him from getting Elizabeth to see her true feelings.
Awesome story, Awesome narrator! Great Read!

Great but needs an additional woman’s voice

Really liked the story and the narrator’s voice except I wish they would use a woman’s voice for the women’s parts. The man impersonating a woman’s voice sounds like a children’s book character and it takes you out of the story. But overall, a great story to listen to.

Best story yet!

I have listened to all of the series so far. This is the best one yet. The love story made me laugh, cry and then cry happy tears Can't wait to hear the next story.

Good kilt fix!

The story is predictable, of course, but it did what I hoped it would when I downloaded it! Not too overly dirty, but good for a good time:)
