This was one of the most enjoyable biographies or histories I've ever read. That's due in part to Roosevelt, who was many things besides a politician--naturalist, writer, cowboy, war hero, among others--and in part to Morris, who writes beautifully and with the right blend of admiration and objectivity. I'd even recommend this book to someone who is not particularly interested in politics. Mark Deakins is an excellent narrator, and does a great TR voice.

Perfect mix of historical facts, engaging stories

This book is such a great diving off point for learning about the great Teddy Roosevelt. The stories are fantastic and no one section of his life is boring. Much like the man. The narration was also some of the best from audiobooks of which I've ever listened. All around great.

The greatest narrative biography I've ever read

Morris captured the life and character of Roosevelt perfectly. The deep look into what shaped the greatest President of the 20th Century into the "bull moose" is absolutely essential for anyone interested.

The performance is remarkable. The reader's impression of TR is astounding! Highly recommended.

A great first part

Not sure the part about Grover Cleveland having a child out of wedlock turned out to be true so it might be a little dated but the book is great.

A fantastic and what seems to be a highly unbiased account of the life of TR. Speak softly and read this excellent work.

Must read/ hear book!!! It flows so well like a novel. I highly recommend this and i am off to read the sequels

Mark Deskins is BEST narrator of any Audible book. The voice of TR is amazing. You think your standing right next to the great TR as he speaks! Incredible biography by Edmund Morris.
