Publisher's summary

A ruthless hunter, Captain Han is the definition of efficiency. His AIM-50 pulse-rifle, his second-generation flight pack, all The Domain’s detainment methods: his tools are an extension of his body. If he could only forget the heart-wrenching loss of his beloved son and stop arguing with his AI-implant, he would be the ultimate enforcer. These things don’t completely break him, though, as Han remains a fierce warrior, and the only cure he knows for what ails him is more work. Little does this seasoned killer know; his biggest challenge will come in the form of an eighteen-year-old “landie.”

Far from the ritzy and glamorous Inner Ring, life on the Hagen Homestead brings its own challenges. For starters, none of the family should even be there, as The Domain has mandated humankind to live exclusively on the the massive floating countries known as The Rings. For the Hagens, getting caught on land would almost certainly end in their execution … but even this won’t stop young Brian from living.

Born on the Outer Ring but raised in hiding in the mountains of the Old Olympic Forest, Brian Hagen yearns to see the Pacific Coast. His elders are wise to forbid this, as there is no reason to venture out and risk the ultimate consequence. Brian’s young heart, however, doesn’t care, and not a week after his eighteenth birthday he sneaks into the wild to live out his dream. Will he find the mighty Pacific? Will he cross paths with our relentless enforcer? Will he even survive this excursion?

The perfect blend of jet-packing odyssey and dystopian fantasy, The Rings of Hydra becomes harder to put down with every turning page. You’ll laugh, cry, and everything in between as you explore the various landscapes across the “Old United States.” Trailblaze, blister across the sky, discover, and ultimately … change the world. When you are ready, download and enter The Rings of Hydra.

Horrid

Couldn't even finish. Not sure if the narration was bad because of AI or the story was just that bad.
