Not my jam.

Narration: no major complaints with the narration. Both male and female did fine.

Story: if you like weak willed simpering lead female characters, this book is for you. I’m so over the ‘I can’t help myself around the guy that treats me like garbage’ trope. The lead FMC is obnoxious.

Kane & Scarlett (Letty)

Oh crap! What did I just read? Nothing but the best from Tracy Lorraine that's what! My goodness that ending was good. I suspected one part but not the other. A few things has been brought to light from Kane and Letty's past and I cant wait to hear more. Neither one has been nice to the other, but the attraction they have for one another is smokin' especially the last sex scene before the ending. I cannot wait to listen to the next book and pray that audible will hurry and release the 3rd book. I dont normally listen unless all books are released but found myself listening to the prequel since it was on sale and ended up purchasing what was already released. I'm so excited to see where Tracy is going to take us with this new series. She is definitely off to a good start. The narration was spectacular! I love the duets of Rachel Woods and Luke Parker. They always do a wonderful job but Luke slammed it out if the park in the final scene. You could hear and feel the pain in him. It was heartbreaking 😔 If you're debating on purchasing this book, this series, JUST DO IT! You will not be disappointed.

Loved it!

I absolutely loved the dual narration. This makes the listening experience so much more enjoyable. The performances were great. I really liked the narrators. I was looking forward to Lettie and Kane’s story and believe me Tracy Lorraine made it well worth the wait. This new series is so very dark and twisted. Kane is so vicious to Lettie but she gives it right back. There are so many secrets and lies between these two. I need to know what happened. They may hate each other but when they touch its electric. That ending was a shocker that took my breath away. I hope the next book comes soon because I don’t know how long that I can wait! Great start to a hot new series.

I feel tricked lol

I'm reviewing for the person out their like me, who loves DUET narration so much that when they find one of these needles in a haystack, they jump on it, without reading the description. I wasn't impressed with the male narrator. Huge potential there, but it just comes off as too forced. Too over the top. Dude, relax a little. But the real problem with this book FOR ME was that I started listening & was really getting into the story. Feeling a bit invested in the relationship between Letty & the Dunn twins (Leon & Luca). It really seemed to be turning into a good "friends to lovers/best friends brother/reverse harem" combo. But then like HALFWAY through the book (I think chapter 13 of 23), it becomes clear that this a$$hole (not to be confused with an alphahole) Kane is the actual male main character. He's an utterly irredeemable rapist. Once his character has joined the story, the female main character becomes a spineless example of an abused woman's mentality. I literally heard the mental breaks sound effect in my head. I was like "Wait. What just happened?!". It feels like the writer started one story & then abruptly decided, halfway through, to completely change the direction of the story. & unfortunately not for the better. I'm so frustrated that this wasn't about Letty & the twins! 😫

Love it!

This is one dark, twisted, bully, hate, a kind of love triangle and drama filled story that captured my attention right from the start. I was intrigued to read Kane and Letty's story from the end of Legend and the prequel. This does end in a cliffhanger. There is so much chemistry between these two it's explosive. There's a lot going on that catches you attention wanting to know what happened and what's going to happen. Can't wait to get my hands on the next part of their story.

Love listening to the narrators. They bring the characters to life.

Too Many F-Bombs

I had a really hard time with this story because there were so much profanity that it was hard to concentrate on the story. I think the F-word was used almost every other sentence, and I realize even though it’s normal for people to talk this way, it was just hard to listen to. I’m not a prude or anything, and I do listen to stories with profanity all the time, but this was too much. I think this is the same problem I had with her other series. I just don’t think it’s needed in a story like this.

This puts me in a dilemma because I did like the story, and she left us on a cliffhanger. Part of me wants to get the next book so I know what happens, but I don’t know if I could sit through all of that again. To me it’s just a waste of credit.

That’s the only negative I have about this book because I believe Tracy writes complex characters, but you end up liking them. So, if you’re not worried about too much profanity or too much sex, then this book is for you. The ending will leave you speechless.

Wow

So good you can feel the chemistry between Kane and Scarlett it’s electric. I have just bought books 2 & 3 I need to know what broke them both and made them act like they hate each other I think there’s more to it that what was revealed at the end of this book. The scenes when they are together are hot and steamy I hope they get their HEA. Loved the duet narration it made listening perfect.

Really good

Love this book and really enjoyed this audible. Never listened to one where the female does all the female roles and the male does all the male ones, but really liked it done this way. The story was really addictive, loved it.

Hit & miss

I think this one really comes down to how dark you like your anti hero’s. Cain was a bit too full on for me. The dubious consent, how rough he was & how demeaning he was… imo it was over the top. But in saying that our heroine loved it. Which was confusing considering how terrified she was of him. The only redemption he got was the slight hint of worry for her that he thought occasionally.

I had trouble relating to Letty. I honestly thought she was a complete tease, stringing along all the men in her life and keeping them at arms length. Literally every guy was either in love with her or falling over themselves for her and she basked in their attention. As far as heroines go I thought she was super weak & I struggled to like her. She told Cain she wasn’t a dog but she always jumped when he barked.

I don’t really feel like much happened in this book. There wasn’t any big drama just revelations really. It was kind of just our main characters getting reacquainted and then a bomb being dropped at the end with still many questions unanswered.

If you love enemies to lovers books rough, dirty with stalker vibes then you’ll love this. The mystery in this one has me invested enough to continue the series.

This was my first time listening to these narrators and they didn’t disappoint.
