Publisher's Summary

Jace Hughes is a Renegade.

That means taking jobs and not asking questions, whether that involves smuggling, transporting runaways, or performing other, far less wholesome work. Whatever the situation, Jace is willing to do what it takes to achieve his dream and live the life he’s always wanted.

That is, until he comes face to face with an item of unprecedented value - something that could give him everything he needs to pay off his debt and be free.

The only problem is that selling it would also shift the balance of power between the two largest empires in the galaxy.

And spark another intergalactic war.

Unfortunately for Jace, he won’t have long to decide. Renegades, assassins, and government cronies are after the item, too, and unlike Jace, they won’t hesitate to kill.

The first book in JN Chaney's thrilling sci-fi adventure, The Renegade!

The Origin story we’ve all been waiting for!

Following Jace Hughes to his shady beginning has been a curiosity for me for sometime. We get to see him as a newer Renegade, one who has yet to learn of Earth’s mystery. Pro tip: listen to the end of the audio for hilarious Luke Daniels bloopers!

Laugh out Loud and Dynamic

It’s rare these days that I actually laugh out loud, this time I definitely did. I was thoroughly entertained by the characterizations Daniels provides and the rollercoaster Chaney lets him ride. I enjoyed the fact that Daniels gives more flavor to the narration rather than simply within the dialogue. You get the feeling that Jace JUST got done with his adventure and he is freshly recounting it. Well done by both parties. I am eager for the second book!

p.s. stick around through the end credits for an hilarious surprise!

Listen for the story, stay for the bloopers!

Another hit by Chaney. I have to say, listening to Jace Hughes is definitely the preferred method of experiencing this story. Luke does such a good job with the character that you just can't imagine it any other way.

Thank for the ride guys!

Once again, Luke Daniels and Chaney are a match in heaven

This book is a breath of fresh air! I love Jace and the whole Renegade Star series. He’s a charismatic vagrant and a fun character to follow. Right up there with the best of them like Han Solo. If we could get more of these books, I would love it.

The start of great smuggler in space.

This could be considered a pre story for the renegade series. Renegade star is another series written by JN Chaney that has some great character development and a really strong story. This is the background story of the key smuggler Jake and the 1st adventure he goes on. Great listen.

Good book but initially I didn't like narration

Entertaining with drama and action followed by a conclusive ending. With that said the first half Luke wasn't on his game with the voice acting. He changed it up towards which was more reasonable than the New Jersey accent he had going in the beginning.

A good action series

I was looking for another action series and found this one. Luke Daniels is my favorite narrator so I gave it a listen. The main character is likable and a bit cocky. Your typical man's man. The story keeps going at a good pace. All together a good read and worth continuing the series

Before Abby there was Calista

This is a prequel to the Renegade Star series and covers Jace's early days as a Renegade. With barely a year under his belt as a Renegade, he has an undesired yet fateful encounter with a noob wannabe renegade by the name of Calista. What follows are a series of unfortunate events that winds up with the two of them begrudgingly teaming up.

JN Chaney crafts a story that is thrilling and full of romping good fun.

Luke Daniels delivers another exciting performance.

Pay the credit, have a good listen.
