Publisher's Summary

Anyone who serves God will discover sooner or later that the great hindrances he has in the Lord's work is not others but himself. He will discover that his outward man (soul) is not in harmony with his inward man (spirit). Both tend to go toward two opposite directions from each other. He will also sense the inability of his outward man to submit to the inner control of his regenerated spirit. His greatest difficulty lies in his outward man, which hinders him from using his spirit. Each one of us has as much of the same "Jacob nature" in us. Our only hope is that the Lord may blaze a way out of us, breaking our outward man - breaking it to such a degree that the inward man may come out and be seen. This is precious! This is the way to serve the Lord.

Releasing The Flow of The Spirit

To cooperate with God in His breaking of our outward man is vital and a normal process given us in our day to day human experiences we must learn to view and embrace all things as God sees them and not carnally. This book shows us The how and why of Gods dealings with us to work out of us that which blocks and restricts The free flowing of Life in our Union with God .

Great great teaching by Watchman Née that every christian needs to learn. Very rarely witnessed and taught in the western church.... The breaking of the outer man. Wonderful narrator. Thank you for making this an audiobook!!!

The number of times the same thing was said differently helped me to better understand the message of the author.

Watchman Nee makes walking in the Spirit tangible

Nee has a lucid understanding of walking in the Spirit, and denying the flesh. It's changed how I think about the religious life as opposed to Christ life in me. I highly recommend this audio book and everything Watchman Nee.

Excellent book on the subject

I found this an excellent and enlightening book on the subject in the title but often required rewinding to understand given the literary style and seemingly foreign or complicated grammar or way of speaking / writing. I enjoyed it very much.

Audiobook was a let down

I know Watchman Nee is a profound Christian writer, and I had heard some great reviews for this book, so I bought the audio. I wish I hadn't. It was extremely boring and the narrator was monotone and showed little emotion throughout.
Books like this can be pretty deep and I think require a more focused read (with highlighter and pen at the ready to take notes). The audiobook really doesn't do it justice. I felt like I completely missed important points because of boredom.
