The Reinvention Of Tempest!!!

I honestly expected not to like The Reinvention of the Rose because, the story line is an extension of Ace’s story from Deuces Wild and I did not like that book. But, surprise surprise, I really like this book. It takes place in Mahogany Heights so, we get to revisit some of our favorite neighborhood businesses and owners. Tempest is trying to rebuild a normal life after she left The Roses. But, she finds a life of normalcy is not as easy to come by as she would like. Tempest has to learn how to deal with everyday life which, is something she’s not accustomed to. She’s still very leery and distrustful of those she doesn’t know. That includes Tristian AKA Mr. Neighborhood Hottie. But, Tristian has his own demons to contend with along with a bad tempered baby mama and an ex who can’t let go. Although though Tempest and Tristian never go into details about their past, they’re still able to bond and better understand one another. I loved that Tempest had Ace as a mentor to guide her while she was rebuilding her new life. Eboni Flowers did a phenomenal job! This was my first book narrated by her and I hope it's not the last. The Reinvention of the Rose was a great read. I really hope CCJ releases the rest of the series on Audible with Eboni Flowers as the narrator.

Temptress is off the chain

Christina C. Jones has done it again. I love this book the character of temptress was a true badass

Phenomenal

I loved this book! CCJ you have done it again...Oh and Eboni you are slowly becoming my absolute favorite voice to hear narrating great books. This was an amazing listen and loved the drop ins of characters from other stories (Ante Up & Deuces Wild).

This was a refreshing love story. It was a great listen of a woman reinventing herself. Highly recommended!

Great story

Didn’t know how I would like this story; wasn’t familiar with the narrator, turns out to be good. The storyline was good, but wish it would have gotten a little more into the why from her past. Narrator did a good job with the characters. Some of the issues were real life.

Not My Favorite

I am a CCJ fan, but this book is a no for me and so was this narrator. First, the book content didn't hold my attention like most of CCJ's books do and the characters were not as developed as I am used to with her work. None of these people knew each other and we never "really" got to know them either. The ending felt incomplete too. Then this narrator, while she wasn't terrible, she was definitely no Wesleigh! I won't request a refund, but this one was definitely a NOT my favorite.

Loved the story

This book for me told the story of getting out of your own way. How two people that are flawed share similar flaws. Also navigating from the past to engaging in life.

Great story!

This story is very well written and the performance was perfect. I’ve read all of the High Stakes series and this one really brings it all together after the Garden has been dismantled. I like reading about how the characters are assimilating into the world and figuring out who they are now, while letting go of their past life. The narration was perfect by Eboni flowers. I highly suggest this book!

Not what I expected but I loved it!

I've held onto this for a while because I wasn't sure if my heart could take the extra palpitations after previously reading Ante Up, King of Hearts, and Deuces Wild 😂 however I'm so glad I started this one and I'm diving tight I to the next one. Great job as ALWAYS CCJ and great job on the narrating Eboni!

Very good story line and the narrators were awesome! I can't wait to read the other books in this series!
