He knows he is no good for the daughter of a baronet, but he falls for the lively Elizabeth in spite of every reason he should not. When the two determine their mutual attraction cannot be denied, Darcy decides to accept the challenge of re-entering society more for the sake of Elizabeth’s reputation than his own. Because both know it won’t be easy for him to regain the good opinion of the ton, Darcy goes to his noble relations to seek their assistance and Elizabeth joins him in London to support his efforts.

Of course, the expectation of whispers and snobbery is scant preparation for facing down the harshest critic of them all: one’s own family.

An unusual twist in situations

A very unusual twist for Darcy and Elizabeth as they navigate the world they live in. It was an enjoyable listen and not to be missed.
The narrator was awesome and brought the story to life.

A Nice Variation But Some Oddities

No angst, thank goodness, no ridiculous alteration to Elizabeth’s fundamental nature. Kind of dark. Lots of death, it’s of orphans or kids with one dead parent. Just a bit heavy handed. The plantation thing comes from nowhere and they all agree they don’t like slavery. Kind of weird.

I absolutely loved this story. I have zero complaints about it. it was heartfelt and extremely well written. I will definitely be looking for oyger works by this author. I highly recommend this. and Harry Frost does an amazing job as always he's one of my favorite narrators

The most loved cannon characters all here: LOVE IT

Jane, Bingley’s widow rents (!) Pemberley (!) bringing along her daughter and sister Elizabeth. Needing to escape the sad memories of Netherfield and desiring a time of peace away from home wants to move away for a while, inconsolable after Charle’s death. She is wealthy now but without her husband, she just can’t take living near home anymore. Pemberley is available.

Darcy and Pemberley have fallen on hard times. His father died in devastating circumstances losing their fortune in speculation and being preyed upon by previously trusted associates. None other than the Wickhams, junior and senior. Oh my gosh. The estate is still bringing an income but all of it is going to pay debt.

Elizabeth loves Pemberley and everything about it and takes over most all the duties of mistress to leaving Jane to care for little Meg and enjoy the solitude she craves. Elizabeth meets Darcy whilst out walking, being introduced to her as the steward. Both are attracted to each other. Did we have any doubt? Well, maybe we should if this followed canon precisely but Darcy has been humbled.

A delightful, thoughtful, moving, heartwarming, variation with wonderful departures from but faithful nonetheless to our dear Pride and Prejudice.

There are many characters here to love, new and old. And a few to really hate. The villain get their punishments and the worthy get their rewards. But the journey to achieve them is a great tale of love and devotion. There is sweet romance between our dear couple. A very satisfying story and one I will be reading or listening to again.

Recommend for those interested in a nice long story with all the emotions and drama, and all the love we desire from a well written story. Great narrator!!

Great story

A really great story. Darcy’s father had been tricked by both Wickhams and Pemberley was highly in debt. Elizabeth meets Darcy while her sister leased Pemberley. Great story. Great narrative. Great Jaff

I was immediately hooked!

This is a fantastic variation! I enjoyed the clever mention of characters from other Jane Austen novels. The narrator is one of my favorites, too. Now, I must go in search of other novels written by this author!
