Son of a nutcracker! She’s done it again!

In real life, I’d hate these gals. Maggie is a Christmas bully, handing out citations to folks she deems not spirited enough, like those toxic A holes who demand strangers smile without knowing a thing about their current personal circumstances. Sutton is an admitted crystal wearing, boho-hippie who’s squatting in an RV and makes goat-soap for a living. Even Lexi gives librarians a bad name, judging Carter solely by his jock cover.

And, for eleven months out of the year, I’d have nothing but disdain for the too contrived, overly sappy, holiday-saturated spicy-and-sweetness of these stories. But, between now and Xmas, I transform into a marshmallow that melts listening to these Christmas confections. No story is too sweet, no plot too silly, no character too much of an unrealistic caricature. You had me at Jana Aston does Xmas rom-com.

From the author that brought us porny Advent calendars, a one night stand with Santa and sexy Christmas undies in Vol. 1 comes a new trio of novellas featuring goat-caroling, elf-hat fetishes and … more Christmas undies! Oh, and side-eyes, occasional F-bombs, and Xmas hate-flirting that leads to hawty-naughty get togethers. It is Jana Astin, after all.

Personally, Jana Aston’s my number one gal for holiday rom-com novellas, but if her brand of spice isn’t for you, consider:
🎄If you need less absurd, but still want spicy, try The Office Party by Whitney G
🎄If you want nooky that’s more nice than naughty, try Scrooged or The Christmas Pact by Vi Keeland
🎄If you want nooky that’s very naughty and bdsm-nice, try Snowed In With The Boss by Lili Valente
🎄If your priority is free, try The Package or The Detour by K Bromberg
🎄If you want to add regency on top of your holiday romance addiction,
I suggest the novellas in How The Dukes Stole Christmas.

Erin Mallon’s narration knocks this series of novellas out of the park!

Elves with Benefits

A holiday themed enemies to lovers storyline that is very entertaining. Definitely one you can listen to anytime of the year.

One Night with a Nutcracker

Another great addition to this series! I absolutely loved this enemies to lovers holiday storyline. Sutton and Jake have so much sizzling hot chemistry and banter that will keep you entertained throughout this quick read. The true stars of this one are the goats, loved them!!!!

The Bachelor on the Shelf

I really enjoyed this fake relationship storyline as the finale novella of The Sheppard brothers. Lexi and Carter’s chemistry is hot and their banter is fun. You can’t help but swoon and laugh out loud.

Definitely a must listen in this Reindeer Falls series.

okay

Cute, but females were just sad. Why do women have to be portrayed as losing their mind around an attractive guy.

2nd times a .... charm?

I didn't enjoy these books so much this time. I'm not sure if I just wasn't in the mood, but I got very irritated with them not communicating. ugh. anywho, they are very Christmasy and that are very fun.

Cheesy but works if you’re into that

The stories are fun, steamy and Christmas themed. If implausible but festive romances with happily ever afters tied neatly in a bow are your thing then you will love this series. The ending was a little too cheesy for my taste but I appreciated the short stories for what they were.

Love Jana Aston’s Writing!

These books are mini versions of her regular books and they are fantastic! I still connect with the characters and the stories are still rich and well done. Really liked these!

What a Christmas joy!

Volum two of the Reindeers fall is a holiday joy! I love this fictional town and would love to live in it. The stories are fun and full of Christmas spirit. All the couples have amazing chemistry and fun stories. Narration is on point, Wrin never fails in delivering a fun read, I do wish this stories had the male point of view, it would make for some fun narration, but none the less they are enjoyable.

The Narration is soooo Perfect!

The Reindeer Falls Collection volume 1 by Jana Aston was one of my favorite audiobooks when it came out in 2019. I was so excited to go back for a visit that I couldn’t wait for Volume 2 and re-listened to Volume One again. I thought I would need to to remember stuff, but honestly Volume 2 features all new characters. And while they mention the characters and places from the first volume, you didn’t need to read them first (though you should because they were so good!).

Three hot brothers return to Reindeer Falls when they receive an inheritance from their uncle. They all start out with a bit of conflict from the three best girlfriends—the Sheppard brothers may be hot but they’re kind of a-holes…aren’t they?

Elves with Benefits
Maggie is the local “Christmas Cop”. Since Reindeer Falls is is a Christmas Tourist destination, everyone on Candy Cane Lane is expected to decorate for the holidays. If they don’t, you can count on Maggie, who over-the-top LOVES Christmas, to give a citation. Ryan just inherited the house next door to Maggie. He just wants to finalize the estate and get back to Chicago. He has no intention of decorating, but Maggie won’t take no for an answer.

This one was adorable in a really over-the-top way, but it kept me smiling the whole time.

One Night with a Nutcracker
Sutton is a bit of a hippie who lives in a trailer on a local farm with goats. It all started when she rescued one, and then she found another…and another… Now she makes goat’s milk soap and her business is doing pretty well. That is until Jake Sutton shows up and informs her that she is squatting on HIS land that he plans on turning in to a golf course.

Sutton’s free ways are just perfect for loosening up Jake’s buttoned-up lawyer persona and I just LOVED the goats!

The Bachelor on the Shelf
Carter Sheppard is a professional baseball player. The only thing his uncle left him was a dog, but he didn’t mind returning to his Christmas-themed hometown to come get the dog. He has also been tasked with cleaning up his reputation as a player. Lexi, the town librarian, is the perfect girl to help with that task. But can their fake relationship turn real?

I loved that Carter was a reader and loved his town. This one was super sweet, and I loved the shy girl and the player together.

The Narration:
Erin Mallon is so amazing, especially at silly and sweet romance. Her voice is SO PERFECT for Jana Aston’s words that the narration brought this read up to 4.5 stars for me. Plus her man voice is just soooo sexy!

The Down & Dirty:
I’ve been in Jana Aston’s reader group since I read her first books and I feel like I have gotten to know her a bit. I love how these stories all really feel like her! They are sweet and quirky and funny, and each character has a piece of Jana in them. But Erin Mallon narrating elevated these to something super special.

Rating: 4.5 Stars, 5+ Narration (I feel like the books were sexy, but I don't remember how much!)

Light easy listen

This was a light easy listen. Lacked some depth as you’d often expect from novella length stories, but it was a nice bit of festive distraction.

Festive cheer

Elves with Benefits

I love Jana Aston in general but her Christmas stories are just brilliant. Who else would have the heroine describe the hero as wet sea otter?
Elves with Benefits sees Reindeer Falls holiday enforcement officer Maggie pitting her wits boy city home boy Ryan. Maggie is a transplant to Reindeer Falls, she lives for energy aspect of the town and its Christmas vibes. Ryan on the other hand left as soon as he could and since he returned he's had more than his fair share of tickets from the holiday enforcement officer for his lack of Christmas cheer.
I loved the banter, I loved the Christmas puns, I loved the spice.

One Night with a Nutcracker

Who knew goats, soap and ramshackle farm buildings would make a festive, banter filled Christmas story. Well that would be Jana Aston when she brought Sutton and Jake to life.
Jake Sheppard drives on to Sutton's goat farm in his porsche to find her squatting on the property he's just inherited, with her goats, airstream trailer and soap making business. Let just say he's none too pleased, but not as displeased as Sutton when he evicts her, her goats, the airstream and the soap business.

The Bachelor on the Shelf

When Carter Sheppard's uncle Joe passed away leaving him his dog, Rudy, he’s a little sceptical his brothers were left Joe's house and farm land.
Lexi was Joe's neighbour, local librarian and quirky soul. Lexi loves Rudy, caring for him since Joe passed and isn't best pleased at having to give him to Carter. Lexi doesn't believe Carter will make a very good dog daddy to Rudy.
Pro baseball player Carter doesn't have the best reputation and badly needs to improve that. So obviously a fake engagement to Lexi is the best plan. She plays along, she gets Rudy. Win win?
No one suspected that uncle Joe had a plan. Well I think Rudy knew, he was far to helpful for a dog who knew nothing!
This is a banter filled Christmas treat. Set in the delightfully festive town of Reindeer Falls.

My only issue with this audiobook is that there was no identifier between the stories. It went straight from the final chapter on to tut first of the next. Erin Mallon was a always fab, heart voice for each character are spot on.

Full of festive fun!

Elves With Benefits: Reindeer Falls #4

Elves With Benefits: Reindeer Falls #4 is a laugh out loud, cosy Christmas novella with the warmest of festive feels. Maggie and Ryan are fantastic characters, and with a Christmas cop wielding her violation tickets, festive memories, and the very steamy scenes between them, you’ll definitely want to read their magical story!

One Night With A Nutcracker: Reindeer Falls #5

Jake is the second of the Sheppard brothers to meet his perfect match in this wonderful festive novella. And once again Jana Aston blends the magic of Christmas with quirky characters, madcap humour and a little steam, and delivers yet another joyous addition to the Reindeer Falls series.

One Night With A Nutcracker: Reindeer Falls #6

A Bachelor On The Shelf is the delightful and heartwarming finale of Vol 2 of the Reindeer Falls series. It’s a wonderfully fun, fabulous, and festive novella in which Carter and Lexi find their happily ever after with a little help from the magical spirit of Christmas!

ANOTHER OUTSTANDING LISTENING EXPERIENCE FROM JANA ASTON

As usual. Jana has not disappointed. Three stories about three brothers and their HEAs. Light, entertaining and very well written, it’s perfect reading for the holidays. And Erin’s narration is on point once again. More than worth the time and money. Highly recommend.
