Story
In 1997, Ronald "Knight" McKnight was the meanest, most misunderstood boy at Peach State High School...perhaps on the entire planet. Knight hated everyone, except for me, BB - the perky, quirky punk chick with the locker next to his. I, on the other hand, liked everybody...except for Knight. I was scared to death of him, actually. All I wanted was to marry Prince Eric-lookalike and king of the Peach State High punk scene Lance Hightower and have a million of his babies. Unfortunately for me, Knight was even better at getting his way than I was.

Story
Now the last member of my family has died, and I'm forced to travel across what's left of three states to find the only people I know left alive. To survive, I'll have to salvage food and supplies and try to avoid violent men who've learned they can take what they want by force. The only way I'm going to make it is by trusting Travis. Travis used to fix my car, and now he's all I have left in the world. He's gruff and stoic and unfriendly, and I don't really know or like him. But he's all I have left. He'll keep me safe.

Now, my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston's nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan. Reasons why I should not be drawn to Troy Serrano. Number one: He’s obnoxious. Number two: We were enemies more than a decade ago. Number three: He’s my friend’s ex-boyfriend. I could go on and on, really. When my boss gives me an unwanted assignment, and tells me it involves spending time with the grandson of one of our residents, the grandson turns out to be Troy. Lucky me. Four hours a week of having to deal with his insufferable personality and unsolicited advice - the only consolation is getting to stare at his annoyingly gorgeous face, in between our many arguments.

Jilted by my fiancé. A disappointment to my family. Haunted by my childhood traumas. I felt so much all my life that I resolved to feeling nothing at all. Until I met my match. As the most infamous mafioso of the 21st century, Dante Salvatore was madly passionate, unequivocally bad, and entirely too dangerous to know. He was everything I abhorred, yet I found myself representing him in the biggest criminal trial of the decade. I was so focused on winning and achieving the success I deserved that I didn't notice the gorgeous, black-eyed man's effect on me until it was too late.

Praying for Rain Synopsis
“None of this matters, and we’re all going to die.”
With only three days left until the predicted apocalypse, the small town of Franklin Springs, Georgia, has become a wasteland of abandoned cars, abandoned homes, abandoned businesses, and abandoned people. People like Rainbow Williams.
Rain isn’t afraid of dying. In fact, she’s looking forward to it. If she can just outrun her pain until April 23, she’ll never have to feel it at all.
"Supplies. Shelter. Self-defense."
Wes Parker has survived every horrible thing this life has thrown at him with nothing more than his resourcefulness and disarming good looks. Why should the end of the world be any different? All he needs are some basic supplies, shelter, and a sucker willing to help him out, which is exactly what he finds when he returns to his hometown of Franklin Springs.
As society crumbles, dangers mount, and secrets refuse to stay buried, two lost souls are thrust together in a twist of fate - one who will do anything to survive and one who can’t wait to die.
Perhaps, together, they can learn how to live.
Before their time runs out.

Not All Good, Not All Bad ✨
Let's start with the narration: I'm sorry to say that Madeline's performance was nothing special in these books, she was alright to listen to. Alex Kydd's voice was horribly cast for this character and although after a few painful hours I kinda got used to it, it still irked me until the end especially after every time I heard him say "but". Even though I didn't particularly enjoy the narrators voices I would not let this stop me from listening to the book.
The first one was by far the best of the series, followed by the third one and the second one.
First book was very well written, intriguing, and I liked getting to know how two main characters. Nice mystery, nice smut scenes, funny comebacks, great action scenes, great twists and some sad or interesting inner monologues.
The second one honestly I could've skipped all together if not for a couple of scenes (the fountain, the house). The introducing of so many new and shallow characters, and the constant adding of details and futile scenes that really didn't matter annoyed me, and so did the constant repetiveness of the main character's thoughts and actions. Also, the reason of a certain character leaving and coming back was quite stupid imo. The third book was a bit better, even though still packed with useless scenes, useless side characters and way too many details, it had its great moments, both action and romance wise. I would've loved more time between the love birds, and a much better and believable ending. I can't say much without SPOILERS but let's just say that a lot of things at the end were way too farfetched and didn't make sense at all. Everything felt way too fast and hurried, as if the writer wrote the first thoughts she had in her mind without checking it again. Overall I do not regret listening to this, especially because I got three books for the price of one (if I had to buy them separately I wouldn't have, sorry).

‘Wes’ Narrator ruined it for me
The story was just ok. I appreciated the attempt and it had some good parts, but overall it just felt really immature and unbelievable. The ‘Rain’ narrator was good, but the ‘Wes’ narrator was so confusing and irritating. If he grew up in Texas and moved to North Carolina and then Europe WHY does he talk like a whiny surfer boy? I’m surprised I finished it. Definitely not a book I’d listen to again or recommend.

All New to Me!
New author, new genre, new narrators! I ended up really enjoying this trilogy. Since this was my first dystopian/apocalyptic romance, I want sure what to expect. BB Easton gave you all the feels with Rain and Wes's 3-part story. Both Madeleine and Alex narrated well, bringing the story to life. 100% would recommend if this is your thing, but be wary of triggers. There are descriptions of murder, rape and assault throughout the book. They address integral parts of the storyline though, so they are not gratuitous.

Couldn't finish due to the male performer
I was really excited to read this story and was starting to get into it, until the male narrator started. He sounds like a 60+ burned out surfer and I just couldn't get past that. I only got about a third of the way into the story and I had to stop because there was just something about his performance that was like nails on a chalk board to me. The book seems to have an interesting story line, so I will get the book and read it myself. I am sorry about the review and look forward to finishing the story..... minus the audio.

prepare for the unexpected
Rain and Wes absolutely swept me into their story from the very first line. I experienced every emotion right along with them.
BB Easton is a true master at her art. She develops characters and a story I become 100% invested in. I know beyond a shadow of a doubt I will run the gauntlet of emotions and the unexpected will grab me every time. Alex Kydd and Madeleine Dauer brought not only Rain and Wes to life but each and every supporting character, to boot. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars.

WES AND RAIN!!
I am so glad I was able to buy this trilogy so I could avoid the cliffhangers. Rain and Wes's stories were tragic. The world that BB Easton builds here does give you vibes of Hunger Games and even the Walking Dead minus the zombies. I thought it was great and well written. It will keep your attention throughout and have you cheering the characters to include side ones to a HEA. There is sadness, spicy and humor throughout the entire trilogy. I am so glad it came across my TikTok to remind me I haven't listened to it yet. Madeleine and Alex do an amazing job. Highly recommend especially for YA.

Beautiful
I don't even know if I can find the words to explaining how much I loved these books or how absolutely perfect they were. I laughed. I cried, I lost sleep over this book. I listened to all 3 books in 2 days because I couldn't stop. I had to know what would happen next. Wes..... oh was. I love him still. I love Rain, she is strong and willing to do anything to keep her Wes. It was just so perfect, and honestly a little too realistic. read it!

Praying for rain
This one certainly rain the emotions down. I’m not usually interested in dystopian romance novels however I kept hearing how stunningly amazing this book is. So I took a chance and I certainly do not regret my decision. As the secrets and emotions seep out of this novel it is nearly impossible to pause. The characters were so well written and the storyline was clearly well thought out and planned. This isn’t a book that left me thinking what have I just been reading this was a book that I loved. I almost felt like I was there.
The narration helped to lift this story to the very next level. They were just perfect and I loved every second of this book, even as it ripped out my heart in places and in others left me fearing for the characters. This is a book that is not easy to put away, it lingers even still in the back of my mind and I know I will have to do a re listen in the very near future. I couldn’t recommend it any more and it may have even convinced me to read/ listen to more dystopian romance.

Love is a battlefield!
This book is completely different to the books I normally read. The end of days/armageddon trope books are not really my thing, but I was intrigued… and curious… to see what would happen when two complete strangers are haphazardly thrown together by fate, and have to fight every day in order to survive the chaos and destruction that is happening around them, but still manage to fall in love. So, when I watched the short book trailer on the author’s IG page, I was convinced that this was something I definitely wanted to read.
Initially, I found the storyline to be quite interesting, but then it went a little crazy for me in the second book… like True Blood anarchy crazy, but without the vampires… but thankfully BB. Easton managed to redeemed herself in the third book with a great ending, so overall I found the trilogy it to be an awesome and interesting read.
One thing I will say about the audio book is that I personally did not enjoy listening to the male narrator . I found his reading tempo to be too slow for me, but once I increased the reading speed to 1.2x, it was much better and I was able to enjoy the book again.
