Publisher's Summary

Princess Esofi of Rhodia and Crown Prince Albion of Ieflaria have been betrothed since they were children but have never met. At age 17, Esofi’s journey to Ieflaria is not for the wedding she always expected but instead to offer condolences on the death of her would-be husband.

But Ieflaria is desperately in need of help from Rhodia for their dragon problem, so Esofi is offered a new betrothal to Prince Albion’s younger sister, the new Crown Princess Adale. But Adale has no plans of taking the throne, leaving Esofi with more to battle than fire-breathing beasts.

Loved it!

Enjoyed every minute of it. The few things the irked me aren't big enough to bother detailing out. However, I would have liked a scene where where the leads declared their love for each other instead of skipping over that part directly from potential misunderstanding to "yay we are happy now" - that did seem like a missed opportunity. There is a very fun plot twist/development right at the end that I did not see coming - can't wait to hear more about that in the next book.

Great queer Fantasy read

A beautiful fantasy story, and a cute queer romance. Was surprised when it wasn’t controversial in this fantastical land but all the other obstacles made up for the fortunately absent homophobia.

I really wanted to like it

I love this genre and had high hopes even after reading the reviews. The narrator wasn't great either.

Great

I liked this a lot more than I thought I would. There’s a minor edit error, an audio overlap near the end but it’s just a few words. Narrator was good too.

This is the book you're looking for!

I should not have had to sift through as many books as I did to find this author. The characters are distinct, not stereotypical, unique, and beyond enjoyable. The villains are well written (well, everything is well written) and their motives thoroughly understandable. One word of warning, this story is not just a love story. This story is adventure, surprise, intrigue, and finally love. There are no hot and heavy sex scenes, but that fits the story and the age of those it is written about. The written did a phenomenal job, and is SO TALENTED. The performance was so well done. The reading of the characters words is so well done it draws you evenore into the story than the author already does. I cannot give a more glowing review of this book. Read beyond the first pages, and see the depths it has to offer. I also highly recommend the others in the series!

No Pillow Princesses here!

An excellent story! I cried, and the characters feel like they develop in a real way. Their relationships, except for a couple of moments, feel like they develop in a real way.

There were a couple of issues with audio editing and recording, but otherwise is read excellently

Great Read

I really enjoyed this story, I love the young romantic feel it gives off. The narrator has a great voice for storytelling and is quite nice to listen to. Id definitely recommend giving this a listen. Off to read the next book!!!

Nice little twists

Definitely looking forward to Book 2 to see where the twist at the end takes the storyline.
