Story
It’s bad enough that Hazel and Gray have defied the demands of Hazel’s foul stepfather. The Monster has forbidden their romance. Now they’ve awakened in the forest, phones dead, hours past curfew. But not far away is a grand estate in the middle of nowhere. The door is open. In this short story about choosing your own path, the fury of the Monster that awaits them back home may be nothing compared to what lies ahead.

Envious queen? Evil stepmother? Kidnapping hag? Elsinora, Gwendolyn, and Marguerite are through with warts-and-all tabloids, ugly lies, and the three ungrateful brats who pitted them against each other and the world. But maybe there’s more to the stories than even the Wickeds know. Is it time to finally get revenge? After all, they’re due for a happily-enough-ever-after. Even if they have to write it themselves.

It’s fate when a man accidentally drops his phone off the bridge. It’s fortune when it’s retrieved by a friendly shape sloshing in the muck underneath. From that day forward, as they share a coffee every morning, an unlikely friendship blooms. Considering the reality for the man above, where life seems perfect, and that of the sharp-witted creature below, how forever after can a happy ending be?

Story
Smart men never dabble with demons. I never claimed to be smart, but at least, I’m powerful enough to control them. When I bound Havoc to me nearly 300 years ago, I never realized how difficult he’d make my life, although “accidentally” lighting him on fire every now and then does bring a smile to my face. Havoc is handsome, mysterious, and somehow, my closest companion, even if we don’t always get along.

In 1893, there's no such thing as witches. There used to be, in the wild, dark days before the burnings began, but now witching is nothing but tidy charms and nursery rhymes. If the modern woman wants any measure of power, she must find it at the ballot box. But when the Eastwood sisters - James Juniper, Agnes Amaranth, and Beatrice Belladonna - join the suffragists of New Salem, they begin to pursue the forgotten words and ways that might turn the women's movement into the witch's movement.

Anna does boring things for terrible people because even criminals need office help and she needs a job. Working for a monster lurking beneath the surface of the world isn’t glamorous. But is it really worse than working for an oil conglomerate or an insurance company? In this economy? A sharp, witty, modern debut, Hench explores the individual cost of justice through a fascinating mix of millennial office politics, heroism measured through data science, body horror, and a profound misunderstanding of quantum mechanics.

Publisher's Summary
There are no happy endings for the Princesses of Chaminade High in this short, twisty tale of teenage murder games by the New York Times bestselling author of The School for Good and Evil series.
The victims are the most popular girls in school, each murdered and arranged in a grim fairy-tale tableau. To find the killer, rookie detective Callum Pederson has gone undercover where the Princes hold court. He’s found enough secrets among the bros to bring them in for questioning - but he could very well get lost in the games the Princes play.
The Princess Game is part of Faraway, a collection of retold fairy tales that take the happily-ever-after in daring new directions. Whether read or listened to in one sitting, prepare to be charmed, moved, enlightened, and frightened all over again.

Perfect ending
THE PRINCESS GAME by Soman Chainani is also a dark story, and with a terrific full cast narration, it keeps you engaged. It’s in essence a police procedural, and readers progressively get a wider and wider view of the goings-on at Chaminade High and the intricacies and high price of being part of the school’s deadly cliques. The story has solidly mature YA content with a focus on hookups, and it seems every Prince has a hurt pride motive to kill a Princess. Perfect ending.

Suspenseful Princess Murders at a High School
So not what I was expecting. It was like 21 Jump Street meets 90210 with Princes. Very suspenseful and definitely keeps your attention. The narration with the many different actors is great!

Best in series
This book is easily the best in the series. It had several twists and turns, a very good performance and, even though I figured it out, a unique and entertaining story. I would definitely read a part two but I don’t think the stories are designed to be more than one.

Disappointed with the ending
I enjoyed the book until I got to the ending. I felt it was disappointing because I felt it was too unreal and I actually thought it was kind of stupid. I can’t go into why because of spoilers.

Who wants be a Princess anyway?
I enjoyed this story too much. Highschool - a scene of death to five (and then six) young girls dubbed Princesses due to the various and hideous ways they are killed. The Princes, aka. the Jocks, of the school are the prime suspects. An aging cop and a new police cadet are on the case with no viable leads, but plenty of suspects except for one problem: they all have alibis. It turns into 'he said, she said' and it really is quite fast paced for even an hour of time. Definitely worth it.

Not Impressed
This is the second book I’ve listened to in this series and I’m once again shocked with how little I like them. For starters, it was very easy to figure out who the killer was long before the story revealed it, and, second, I have no interest in a story emphasizing toxic masculinity. Is Amazon trying to make some sort of social point with these or what? It’s all just coming across as strange and boring to me.

Interesting. A hmmm story.
The Narrators were excellent. The plot of the story kept you entertained. Although some of the narration was needed to be eliminated. It did help, but if storyline was written different it would bfc have sounded better. This book was entertaining.
