Fantastic

If the movie is half as good as this storyline then it will be a great movie.
(Possible Spoilers) As usual the Predators are her on a hunt and he has found his targets, group of black ops military personel that have no idea what they are about to face. McKenna, a sniper, is the only one survives and when located, he is taken back interrogated and deemed unstable. Good way to get him make his story unbelievable expecially when more than one government entity as well as private have placed all their monies on the location and eventual study of any and all alien artifacts. They will not allow anyone to get in the way, especially when one is located and now also a prisoner...the enevitable happens, he escapes and begins looking for his weapons and anyone that gets in his way...well the enevitable happens. And McKenna, bound for a VA psych ward with other inmates happens to get in the way. Yeah it will get interesting.

Enter another, bigger, stronger and far more dangerous, predator into the mix and you have hell unleased in a small town on Halloween night.
There are several other players that come into it as they try to stay ahead of the first predator and they too make the storyline.

It is well worth listening to it simply because there is more explanition about the Predators as their thoughts are also shared, something that hollywood has never gotten correctly unless they change the script and even then it's not always that great.
If however you have seen it are intend to see it, you should also listen/read this as well just for the background info on both predators and the players involved.
This is the sequeal to the first book; Predators-Hunter and Hunted.
That too is a great read/audio because it too gives a bit more info on the Predators...damn good storyline.

What is this?

So much of this has absolutely nothing to do with the predator or aliens, just boring stories about random people. This is a waste of my time.

The Predator has met his match!

I really enjoyed listening to this book. It stayed close enough to the movie to make it extremely entertaining. Wish I'd have "read" the book before seeing the movie. Mr Golden and Mr Morris did a good job of bringing the movie from the screen to become a movie for my ears. Mr. Cronin did an excellent job of portraying the characters and making them believable.

Better than the actual film!

The author and the narrator did an amazing job trying to turn the silly 2018 Predator film into a proper story. There are some clashes in tone because of the script and the silly dialogue but the author managed to flesh out the main cast and even side characters more than the film did.
If you want a proper Predator story tho I recommend the prequel which is more in tone fir a Predator story.

Fun romp, sub par writing

Great story not so much narrative

I loved the story. It painted a vivid picture in my mind and took me back to my comic days and times of seeing the Predator on screen. The narration on the other hand seemed lackluster and without heart. I feel that giving the characters their own voice would do even more wonders for the story. Although a good story I found myself adding more to them than the narrator did for most of the book. It seems at times he would get into character and other times just be reading the story. Overall I would encourage people fan of the Predator to listen.

So much better than the movie!!

Wow!! I've always wondered what The Predator looked like, what made it so scary and Predator-like. Now, reading Christopher's book, and hearing James do an awesome job with the narration, now I know. This is an action-packed ride just like the movie from start to finish, and even though there aren't blockbuster films in the theaters, there are awesome blockbuster books like this one that still keep the magic alive and the adrenaline flowing. If you like some action mixed with a touch of terror, and you like some really cool scifi tech, and you're a fan of the Predator Franchise, like I am, this will definitely be your bestest bag of chips for sure. Istarted this one yesterday, and finished it tonight. And, yes, it was that good. Enjoy, and happy reading. It's the best escape you'll ever have. Happy reading yall.

Great book

I brought book thinking it would have more regarding the development and/or of the hybrid predator, yet it didn't. However it is still a great read.

Why did I watch the film!?!

This is one of those rare adaptations that are FAR superior to its film. If you enjoy the Predator franchise, and I do, forget the movie and get the book. I just wish I’d never seen the film.

Starkly average.

It was okay. Very close to the film, which is disappointing as books are usually s lot better.

Wish I hadn't seen the film

This makes a few important changes from the film. No ridiculous suit. No predator that's trying to save us (whilst also killing everything in its path! ).

Frankly, this is a better story. But, unfortunately, if you've seen the film already then you just can't experience it in the same way. The 'surprises' aren't surprises. Still a good book. But, best to watch the film afterwards.

A better final act than the movie....

Im looking forward to watching the movie again. I think Black messed the final act up in comparison to the book, especially the death of a couple of characters and the final scenes. In fact overall the book just flowed better and I enjoyed it more than the movie since it fleshed out the characters, which of course a book can do easier than a film. The film could have had an extra 15 minutes added to fill in some glaring blanks. The constant references to dogs made more sense here. In the film it made no sense as it was missing key scenes. Overall its not as bad as some critics and fans have said and I enjoyed the listen but id say its not for everyone.

Meh

It's OK but not much more than that, if you're in to the aliens vs predators films and books. For one I hope the film is better!
