I connected with the small

In my life I have lost the functional ability to do many meaningful physical activity and just normal everyday activity I grew up taking for granted. I had assumed my health and my lust for adventure would last a lifetime. It didn’t. I have slowly learned to come to terms with my outgoing wonderful way of exploration becoming a shadow of who I was outwardly but defiantly try to convince myself I’m still that person. It’s been 13 years of painful suffering and loss. I’ve been through pity, anger, gratitude, insecurity, hopefulness, more loss and more gratitude. I’ve considered myself to be an optimistic person. That’s why I have gratitude invading my ungrateful spaces. Regardless of how bad it gets, I lean on my faith in a loving God to help me skim over the sadness and soar to new heights inwardly to once again shine outwardly as much as I can. To feel the warmth and love of accomplishing something small which does change my outlook as if a meditation allowing my thoughts to be free to wander to some beautiful places I’ve been or experienced and reflect on how fortunate to have been there or done the adventures while I was able. I was not still before but now I am. I can still create but not something I can do constant but the peace I get in creating something I can still give of myself is a satisfaction I can have as I let my mind wander free to what is good in my life. I have learned it best to continue to skim over the obvious stuff that can drag me down if I choose to dwell there, or I can jump across to something better in my minds eye and fill my mind with beauty and the internal peace of memory of people I’ve known, loved or had the greatest adventures with. Then even skim past that to those who are current in my life, who deserve my recognition in my heart, the stability of my loving family and a few good friends I am still holding close. Those who I know need to be cheered, to be a comfort however I can. A higher purpose I’ve created as I ask for Gods help and direction in making a purposeful life, maybe I will write again with a much better outlook now, to not waste time by not recognizing how fortunate my life really was when I landed on the sad places with the happiness bursting all around me. I need to open up with a smile and encouragement others can count on, or offer my thoughtful careful best words of wisdom or advice I can give to my children and grandchildren. This which may be most important along with my unfailing love and support for each of them. These thoughts come to me as they bring comfort in chaos. It’s time to show this side and be happy to serve others in a way that can impact their life which is now my time to shine kindness wherever I can. This is how I can connect with the small, which is living life big in what’s important. I didn’t quite see this as I do now, compared to the knitting Michele and Dave spoke of. I love all of these Michele Obama podcast so far, pure treasures to hear. Inspiring, Thank you!
