Publisher's Summary

Divorce attorney Blair Hansen is convinced that marriage should be based on practicality, not passion. But as her own wedding approaches, she finds herself remembering her law school boyfriend, the only man she's ever loved, and regretting what might have been.

Garrett Lowry is a divorce attorney who's ready to settle down. The problem is that he can't find a woman who suits him nearly as well as the one he loved and lost. He broke her heart by playing the field after their breakup - something he's always regretted. But after months of pining for Blair, Garrett stumbles across her in a freak coincidence, and then destiny keeps throwing them together. He's convinced it's a sign that they should give their love a second chance. Can Garrett convince Blair that a player once isn't a player forever and that happy endings aren't just for dreamers?

The Wedding Pact series is rocking!

A beautiful second chance romance! I loved Blair and Garrett's story! You will fall in love with most of the characters in this series! Knickers and Gram are back too and providing laughs along with Grandma Ruby!

Overall Good Experience

This was a good 2nd book in the series. I enjoyed the storyline as well as the narration. I switch to this series if I need a bit of light listening. Will be finishing the series in due course. Really enjoyable.

Love conquers all

I enjoyed this continuation of the series.
Parts of it we're a bit unbelievable, and sometimes you feel you just want to kick whichever protagonist is making irrational decisions.

Good but not great

The first book in this series was cute and fun to listen to. The second book was basically a replay of the first just with different characters.

Umm...

So it was decent, but the first book was definitely better.

Narrator:
Shannon McManus-4stars-decent, a few voices sucked, a few voices rocked (especially her grandma voice!)

I'm gonna just "spoiler alert" the rest of it:

I thought Blair was interested in Meghan's brother, had a crush on him forever, etc...... They were supposed to be good friends, but he wasn't even mentioned in this book! It's like he never even existed. I get that maybe it's supposed to keep it from being predictable, but zero mention of him, after he played a decent role in the first book, felt like the author just forgot. Blair is this strong opinionated woman, but it sure doesn't show when it comes to her relationships. I still liked her, but her stupidity was OTT and frustrating. Too much dumb drama to be a really good book. Also, no points taken off, but did anyone else notice how some of the writing wasn't quite "right"? Words seemed to be misused more than a couple of times, too. I feel like a good edit would make it a better book.

Blaire and Garret's second chance

The second in the series and I am still engaged in the series. This is a good continuation of the first book in the series, new characters are introduced along with the characters from the first. The two sisters are sadly funny and have a true sibling rivalry that has been passed on to their sons. And in this one both grandma's are hilarious.

Funny, mindless romp2!

I enjoyed it. It made me like the character of Blair, which I disliked in the first book of the series. I liked her sense of humor. And another good book with an interesting grandmother.

Wonderful Story

This is a wedding pact continuation from the first book (The Substitute), and I was surprised about the love story of Blaire and Garrett. Blaire was getting married to her fiancé, Neil, and she wasn't happy about being with him. But after coming into contact with her ex boyfriend from law school, Garrett. Of course, it sent lots of different emotions through her. She thought that she could shake him out of her system, but she knew that she was still in love with him. I love the delivery of this story & how it was narrated. I knew from the jump that Neil was no good for her, and he's so calculated & narcissistic. All in all, this happens to be a great story.

thoroughly entertaining book

This is the second book in a series. While it can be read or listened to alone, I recommend enjoying them in order. As with the first book, the author's sense of humor comes through nicely with quirky relatives and twists and turns as a well planned wedding clashes with old heartaches and personal termoil.

2ND CHANCES

I thoroughly enjoyed this story by Denise Grover Swank. It's just a lovely sweet love story between lawyers & ex boyfriend/girlfriend Garrett & Blair, who haven't seen each other in 5 yrs even Garrett walked out on her, but then when he tries & talk to her, she ignores him.
so jump 5 yrs on where Blair can't really trust anyone or especially fall in love but she's going to marry a doctor & that doctor (whose a bit of a Pillock well a big one) is Garrett's cousin & he's going to the wedding as a groomsman, not knowing who he's going to marry as he didn't open his invite. But he got told by his boss that whilst he's up that way for the wedding he can do & cover as someone's divorce brief & guess who's going to be the brief for the wife.
But what a beautiful love story and they have a lot of those heated anguish that you might have Eden you feel like things haven't been resolved.
I do recommend Denise's WEDDING PACK #2
