Incredible.

There are moments (in the book reading world) in which particularly moving books stand out. Piano Girl is that book for me. It has transcended a lot of what I assumed to be love. Dory's musings mirror a lot of my own, about life, about perseverance, about listening to GOD with both reverence and patience.

I also love historical and slightly fanciful stories. The diction is inspirational, we should all literally go back speaking with purpose. Mrs. Murray is perspicacious and her writing quite honestly helps me in my walk with Christ.

This is by no means the first time I've read this book. I've actually read it at least 5 or 6 times. Yet hearing the voices with it, it has kind of rocked me. This review may not be entirely clear. I don't know if you guys are like me, but I usually consume books. They are my weakness. There are times when after a book, you kind of just sit and think. This is that time for me. It was such a beautifully written and well told story. I am a bit in awe.

I've never actually used audible until now. I enjoyed it immensely. I won't say what the book was about, because I think every one should read it for themselves.

Good listen but I was ready for the ending

Any additional comments?

This was a very enjoyable listen full of wonderful characters, some fanciful, and an imaginative solution to a problem. The author did a fantastic job developing the story and the narrator delivered a great performance.

My only issue with this listen is that as the story lines converged, the true identity of the Piano Girl just took too long. I was ready for the HEA long before it came. Still, that's personal; I don't think anyone else listening will be bothered by that.

Exquisite

Beautifully performed with a lovely cast of characters! Best Audible book I have listened to so far! Loved Dorrie's character development and her realization that God was with her through all of her trials. Brilliant! The ending brought tears to my eyes!

Great story

I enjoyed this story all the way through. Even though it could be considered a young adult/fantasy/fairytale it was lovely and the voice actor did a wonderful job with the narration.

Splendid!

What a Wonderful and Splendid story! The author has a very vivid imagination to think up all the details that wove this lovely tale together. During the first minute or two of listening, I wasn’t sure if I would enjoy this book, but very shortly afterward I found myself drawn in, waiting to see what would happen next. It was indeed time well spent, and I will be listening to this again for sure. I felt the narrator was appropriate for the setting and was able to transform her voice into the different characters seamlessly. Very pleased with the ending of this book. This is a talented writer. I have read some of her other books. With the exception of Sticky Notes and Sticky Buns, all her books are very different from each other. I will be waiting for the next in series for each of them.

Delightful & charming fairy-tale

A fabulous fairy-tale type of story!
The details, the characters, the setting, the entire story--it's just perfect!
Alia is your typical rich-kid, a-bit-spoiled kind of princess.
Unbeknown to her, her father has betrothed her to a prince in the land of Far Away since birth.
On her sixteenth birthday, it is time for her to go meet her betrothed.
This is her journey. And it.is.amazing!
Forced to dress as a pauper, to keep her safe during this long trip, she encounters many interesting people and places.
And finally she's forced to--oops--I don't want to give it away.
Not only does she encounter difficulties physically, the person she has become when she finally gets to introduce herself to her betrothed is a very different girl than who she was at the beginning of the story.
The entire story is great. I had the privilege of listening to it, and was sorry it had to end.
And don't miss the sequel, The Viola Girl.
