"Next to me, under the oppression of my people, you have always been unhappy, felt like you were nothing," she says.
"Nothingness," I whisper.
"Stars are born in nothingness," Yulirel touches my hand. "Soon you will shine."

In his childhood, Stas was abducted by the alien Anansi to serve the starwalker Yulirel. Like other abducted teenagers from Earth, he performs his daily duties caring for his mistress.

The Anansi fall into deep depression at the age of ten: eternal apathy, night terrors, and nervous breakdowns. For the aliens, human children are like powerful antidepressants, helping them cope with their adolescent sickness. The children were promised that at the age of seventeen, they would be returned to their families. Back home, Stas’s orphaned sister waits for him, needing his help. Stas has no choice but to loyally serve Yulirel in hopes of returning home as a reward for his years of service.

But Stas and his peers were betrayed. Beneath the facade of Neverland lies hell. For their mission, the ruling caste of the Anansi sacrificed everything, even their own children, not to mention human slaves. Then Stas takes up the axe of war and rebels against his masters. After all, in every world, there are those worth fighting for.
