Absorbing Gother Fairy Tale

3.5 stars rounded up to 4 on the basis of very good narration by Louise Williams (atmospheric voice exactly matched the atmospheric nature of the tale).

A lovely wicked tale of revenge and anger. Well read and easy to get into! Morbid and a little disturbing….. but so good!!

Victorian esq horror

I'm a big sucker for Victorian style horror stories plus the little fairy tales told within the book were so good! I was hooked and couldn't stop listening!

Really enjoyed the gothic style and voices.

I have enjoyed this book and the last one, The murmuring bones due to the gothic style and female fatale leads. The voice acting is also excellent and works perfectly with the book.

Great story

I enjoyed the story, characters, and narration. This is the 2nd story I’ve read by this author. I enjoyed the magic and stories told within the story by the characters.

Not as good as Murmuring Bones, but still a good story. Still going into the next.

the story line was very good but the narrator's dramatic voice gets aggravating at times.

I love the authors ability to tell a sad, yet satisfying story. Slaughter has a unique way of writing.
