Publisher's Summary

A series from Booktuber Lucy Powrie - about what happens when you give up on trying to fit in in and let your weird out! It's time to join The Paper & Hearts Society...

Tabby Brown is tired of trying to fit in. She doesn't want to go to parties - in fact, she would much rather snuggle up on the sofa with her favourite book.

It's like she hasn't found her people...

Then Tabby joins a club that promises to celebrate books. What could go wrong? EVERYTHING - especially when making new friends brings out an AWKWARD BUZZING feeling all over her body.

But Olivia, Cassie, Henry and Ed have something that makes Tabby come back. Maybe it's the Austen-themed fancy-dress parties, or Ed's fluffy cat Mrs Simpkins, or could it be Henry himself...

Can Tabby let her weird out AND live THE BEST BOOKISH LIFE POSSIBLE?

Joyous, funny, book-lovers unite

Tabby starts as the sort of character that Harry Potter fans will know well - she’s sinking but she can’t find a way to tell everyone and let them help. Powrie takes a different turn, making The Paper & Hearts Society an irresistible mix of characters, so that Tabby is drawn into their friendship.
Lovely, spiky, sweet and generous characters and brilliant narration - I can’t wait for book two!

A brilliant and unusual story

The story handles difficult subjects - and an awesome literary road trip - deftly and with real warmth and generosity. I don't usually read YA, but this made me think about it again.

What a surprise

This book so pleasantly surprised me. At first I wasn’t sure and thought it may be just like all of the coming-of-age story, but it’s depiction of anxiety is so amazing and vulnerable. I believe anyone who struggles with anxiety can really relate to Tabby. The characters are all so beautifully written. This witty and relatable tale was so much fun to read, a real credit to the author Lucy! I’ll be looking out for the other books she writes :)

Bookish fun

This book is honestly like a warm hug. The friendships are so great to read about, as are the characters' growths and all the bookish fun. This is a book I wished I could have read when I was younger, but - now reading it in my twenties - I still enjoyed it so much.
