You’ve tried therapy, meditation, and endless self-help, but your body still feels stuck in survival mode.

That’s because anxiety doesn’t live only in your mind. It lives in your nervous system. And until you learn how to work with your body, real calm will always feel out of reach.

In The Only Vagus Nerve Exercises You’ll Ever Need, somatic educator Elise Hart shows you how to reset your body’s built-in calm switch with simple, science-backed practices you can use anytime, anywhere.

Inside, you’ll discover:

  • Why your nervous system keeps you trapped in fight, flight, or freeze even when life is “safe” again.
  • Proven vagus nerve exercises that can bring relief in just minutes.
  • A step-by-step system to regulate, stimulate, and integrate calm into your daily life.
  • How to recognize your body’s hidden SOS signals before anxiety spirals out of control.
  • Practical tools you can return to whenever stress hits. No jargon, no overwhelm.

Grounded in neuroscience, polyvagal theory, and real-world practice, this audiobook offers a clear, compassionate path out of survival mode and back into safety.

If you’re ready to finally feel calm in your body, this is where your healing begins.

I loved this book. I notice in myself and my loved ones a tendency to feel a sort of agitation that has no apparent focus. It seems to come out of nowhere and freeze us into a state of being unable to get anything done. When it happens to me, I feel slightly frantic, while also stopped dead in my tracks. It's one of the worst experiences, not because the emotions are over the top, but because l'm derailed from "life" and I can't tell you why. Here's where vagus nerve exercises come in. These states, l'm learning are a type of panic happening at the level of my nervous system. l'm triggered in some way but there aren't words for it. So the intervention needs to be something nonverbal as well, something that resets my bodymind without me having to "know" what's really going on. Elise Hart's book is packed with information about what is happening, how to reset in the moment, and what to do if all the exercises in the world aren't helping. The reassurance in this book is tremendously helpful and the exercises are doable, virtually anywhere, anytime. Thank you for this collection of nurturing activities that we can use to feel better and
reclaim this moment.

Listening to this gave me practical ways to connect with my body and ease the stress I didn’t realize I was holding onto. The narration was soothing, making each exercise feel approachable and effective. I found myself actually applying the techniques in daily moments of anxiety and noticing a real difference. What stood out most was how simple yet powerful the practices were, even when everything else had failed before. By the end, I felt lighter, safer, and more in control of my emotional well-being.
