Disjointed story line and narration made it difficult to get into the book

I liked the first two books in this series and had no doubts about listening to the third book. The FMC read like an immature girl and made her ownership and intro of kink to the MMC not realistic and not very palatable or sexy. I can not recommend this book the first two books had characters that were believable and a plausible story. This one had neither

very sweet friends to lovers

this was a very sweet, friends to lovers. two virgins who fall in love but want to be eachothers firsts. its a simple story very low angst. this is a good palette cleanser story. I love Miller. he is so sweet and innocent. Delane is cute and confident and knows how to get what she wants. their dynamic is interesting. a dom/sub type of vibe, but sweeter. the writing could have been better. I feel like this author should get better editors or something to help her with some of her phrasing and things. I've never been so cringed out over "my sack" before. I do t think I've seen that used very often. well it is in this book. narration was good. the author also was the female narrator so that's cool. Aaron Shedlock being the sweet innocent Miller worked so well. I've never heard him in that capacity before but I think I like that role for him a lot. perfect casting. love duet narration.

Oh Miller! Or, I should say, oh Daisy! Daisy Jane writes such real people living real lives that sometimes, some of her books aren't always an escape from reality for me. And that's okay. What they are is a reminder that life is brutiful. And, they are always cathartic, always healing.

The Only One is book 3 in her Wrench Kings series (which I hope expands to include Zeth and Mara later on...hint, hint).

As someone who has literally been on his own since the age of 18, twenty-six year old virginal mechanic Miller has a remarkable depth and emotional intelligence, but lacks a certain confidence with women and has yet to find THE ONE to whom he feels he can give his ENTIRE self.

Enter his friend and co-worker, spicy audiobook loving Delane. Miller has been in love with Delane for years. Secure in what she wants, confident in her ability to give more, Delane wants to leave receptionist life behind and become a bona fide mechanic.

Who better to help each other attain their goals? Will an unexpected plot twist in the midst of their situationship and growing relationship provide a satisfying HEA? (Dear reader, it does.)

The Only One is a steamy soft femdom romance. What I love most about this book is the portrayal of a thoughtful & tender MMC whose ego (or lack thereof) allows him to be a willing recipient at the hands of a sexually confident woman. I also love that it turns our views of what giving and receiving looks like in a healthy intimate relationship on its proverbial ear.

Daisy Jane narrates her own FMCs and does a fantastic job portraying Delane as confident and self-assured, while also vulnerable and tender in her own right. Jane's performances are that much more moving as a result of her close connection to the characters she writes.

Aaron Shedlock as Miller made me an instant fan. My first Shedlock audiobook, it won't be my last. Miller's tentativeness, tenderness, compassion for himself and for others, and acceptance of Delane as his queen are all supremely evident in Shedlock's moving performance.

Please always check trigger warnings, but if everything is green, The Only One is a definite must, as are the other books in Jane's Wrench Kings series.
