Publisher's Summary
"Imagine knowing something, knowing it so well that it's burned deep into your gut. You'd question your own name before you questioned this. And then...one day...the whole world changes, and you know nothing."
Having fled the defeat at the Green Gulch, Darius and Jerico, believing themselves the last two paladins of their kind, must separate once more in order to survive. While Jerico rushes to the aid of Lord Arthur and the siege at his Castle of Caves, Darius travels east, determined to remove the bounty on his head. But on his way, he encounters a young priest following an older way of faith, whose desire for their return will risk destruction upon all the North. Sacrifice must be made in blood.

Dalglish is a must for fantasy lovers
Dalglish reminds me very much of the Dragonlance novels I grew up addicted to. I live his half orc series and this paladin series is just as good. I highly recommend getting the 1st and 2nd before reading/listening to the this, the third installment. It can be read/listened to as is but there is sooooo much back story, character development, references to things that happened in the other books that many nuances would be lost. This is the third story of the last two paladins of a good and just god fighting against the forces of evil. One who has always been for the god of good the other a fallen paladin of the opposing order now on the side of right. Here they will face an enemy from their past, crisis of faith and the embodiment of the dark god himself. Well written and well narrated. Can’t recommend it enough. Awesome story, not a fan of the narrator.
I'm really tired if changing narrators for Dalglish's stories. I love his work but it is so distracting to hear several different pronunciations of names of people, gods, and cities. In a perfect world we would have all of his stories narrated by the same person who did his shadow dance series. I also don't think the narrator changed his character voices enough. The two main characters sounded exactly the same. That being said, I can't wait for the next book because I honestly love every book David Dalglish has written! I recommend ALL of his books!
