Only Cletus, ordained minister, common law attorney, journalist, private investigator, and jack of all trades can draw together the people and resources necessary to set things right. The question is, can he do it before it’s too late?

The narrator did a great job but the story was just okay. I did like the quirky characters and there were places in the story that were actually funny.

good stories have slightly crooked Southern lawyer

easy listen. and nice diversion. the Great Dismal is a great sweaty background. the story begins with a pair of legs sticking out of a favorite fishing hole and like any outstanding tale, then spirals out from there to keep the reader engaged. enjoyed the story enough to listen again to catch what I missed first time around

Not Quite Right & Atmospherically Coon Horror

A folk horror swamp atmosphere crime matter with mysticism and redneck humor. The narrator is excellent and increases the material with a country feeling voice. It’s a breezy small town plot that is sometimes aimless but that gives the weirdness time to breath. Aside from the schlocky weird horror antics there is some reflection on the nature of belief and ‘the hoovering presence just outside the grouping limits of the mind.’ It’s poetically written and brilliantly unique, the premise might be better than the execution – a gnarly unusual idea that must manifest into story form; better in atmospheric generalization that never fits explanation. The plot has two aspects and is interesting in telling a convincing overlapping tale of science oddity as well as esoteric supernatural with layers. Good stuff, I enjoyed it and am looking forward to checking out it’s sequel The Crazy Case of Foreman James.

What a great story brilliantly brought to life by the narrator. The characters are as interesting as the storyline.
