Loved it!
A beautifully written story with so many great layers that include love, romance, class, race, and community politics, Ann Petry developed the characters and described The Narrows community with such depth. The narrator was fantastic- being the voice for all genders and various ages! I was transformed to a period of history I truly enjoyed with each chapter.
