Publisher's Summary
What if Princess Diana hadn't died in the Paris car crash in 1997? What if there had been no crash? What if she'd converted to Islam and married Dodi Fayed?
In this alternate reality, Prince William succeeds to the throne and his mother, Princess Diana, rejoins the Royal Family as a Muslim Queen Mother. Meanwhile, her grandson James, the next in line to the throne, is under the spell of a Saudi Arabian Princess who want him to convert and become the first Muslim King of England.

Face Paced Story with imagination and good writing
I enjoyed this alternate history story. I found it well written and fast-paced. I liked how the author showed us so many locations so vividly and seamlessly moved the characters through the story. Some of the "end" was revealed too early in the book -- there might have been missed opportunities there. But it left me wanting a bit "more"
With the premise of the "What if Diana didn't die" ... I think my expectations were for a bit more drama and sparkles with Diana and less evil Dodi. Also without such stereotypical male/female roles. Without ruining a good story - it was heavy on negative political intrigue that was manipulative - as all intrigue is -- but it was the manipulation of children -- I did not care for that. We could have gotten there with less maniacal plotting. I did not like the negative portrayal of Islam either -- it was a bit "evil takes over the world". I mean -- why would Diana ever agreed to black abayas is not a logical alternate history. They can be beautiful -- I know this -- but her costuming in the story needed a massive dose of reality of the rich, famous Muslim women - who are all not "owned" by their husbands nor left out of the public eye. I was really expecting Diana to have a larger role. And William was rather one-dimensional as well - which is a shame but may be necessity to get things published. The plot is great -- I just wish we could have gotten the plot more naturally, and with less heavy-handed bad guys and dopey englishmen...and just a brief question - why would James have to give up a beloved whiskey? - not a realistic version of conversion in the modern world. I did appreciate the bones of the story - writing about the current royal family might be the factor for the one-dimensional characters of Dodi and William --I can see potential litigation and risk there.... I did enjoy the story - it had a fast pace to it with the personalities of the young James and the two protagonists that drew one in. I did want to know more about the Saudi Princess -- did she ever consider converting? I half expected this twist at the end. I recommend this listen to my fellow Audible listeners as it was fun to listen as I was walking and doing things.. a little intense (in a good way) for before bed but - that isn't always a bad thing
Full Disclosure:
I received a gratis copy of this title and have left my honest comment and critique. In fact, I am sure I am harsher than necessary because I thought it was an exciting listen.

SURPRISE
I didn't know what to expect from this book and was definitely pleasantly surprised. This would get all the conspiracy theorists rubbing their hands together regarding Diana's death. I would recommend it if you are in a book club as it's one of those books you really want to talk over with someone. The ending was abrupt but when I think about it there is no way to really end a book on this subject. Give it a go. It will get you thinking

The Muslim Prince
What would have happened to William and Harry if Diana had not died? What would happen to their children? This is a alternate reality book that takes the reader through a period where Diana doesn't die but becomes Muslim, and is reinstated back into the royal family as a queen mother when Elizabeth dies. Even though it is set in a period with Diana it is more about the grandchild's rise to king hood and who is he going to marry.
This is a wonderful novella, well thought out and planned. I love the turns it takes and all the back stage type agreements that is part of the British monarchy culture. The voice actor Craig Bowles makes the audio wonderful, and transports you to their world or reality. His voices for the different characters are simply lovely. So whether you get the book or audio I think you are really going to like this book.

Amazing alternative timeline!
I love this well written alternative timeline book. It did take me more time to get through than I care to admit but only because I am completely unfamiliar with Muslim and Islamic culture. I had to google multiple phrases and terms to get a solid understanding of what was happening. I listened to the audio version and found the narration good but monotone at times. This made it harder to determine when dialog between two characters was occurring. Overall I still greatly enjoyed this book. I will definitely look up more from Roger Ley!

If only!
In The Muslim Prince, Robert Ley takes us into a new world where Princess Diana doesn't die in a car accident and goes on to marry Dodi Fayed. Her son, William, marries Isabella and their first born child is a son named, James. He is adored by his step-father, Dodi but, more than that, in the eyes of Dodi's father, he is viewed as a way to help the House of Saud inch its way into power in the House of Windsor. One day, James will rule as king when his father abdicates at 70, and they hatch a plan to arrange a marriage. Princess Malika is first introduced to James when they are children and a close friendship develops naturally. By their teens, their feelings begin to change and, in no time, they are a couple. But the British leadership isn't too keen on their future king marrying a Saudi Princess and they do everything possible to spy on them, including using new drones, fly on the wall drones. This is a humorous, yet deadly serious type of weapon and Mary is the best drone captain ever! She has a good heart and worries about the safety of James and Malika, even when the entire British hierarchy is trying to keep them apart. Prince James is scholarly and thoughtful which brings him to convert to Islam. If Malika and James marry, he will become the first Muslim Prince of England. The British leaders still can't accept a Muslim Princess, soon to be queen consort, and they devise a plan to eliminate the problem. A bittersweet ending that had me wanting to change a few things to alter the reality one more time! The narration was impeccably done by Craig Bowles who gave life to each of the characters in a dynamic and unique voice. His British accent is perfect!

Great Imagination
This is a good fantasy. I often wondered what would happen if Princess Dianna were to be alive. I enjoyed the story very much but a little disappointed at the same time. I thought I would read more about Dianna. How she managed to escape that faithful day. I would love to read more of Roger Ley's work. Craig Bowles did an excellent job narating this book.

Not what I expected...but in a good way
I approached this audiobook expecting it to be the standard mystery alternate history. But it turned out to be so much more than just "what event did the author change to make this circumstance." It has the right amount of political behind the scenes.
For the most part, we get to know the characters through their dialogue rather than interior monologues, which makes reading the audiobook a lot like watching a movie.

A question many have asked.
I can see the appeal of The Muslim Prince though it is a far cry from what I would normally read. In speculating on what might have been, Roger Ley tells a story of how Diana's extension of the family might have impacted the Royal House of Windsor. A story of politics and plots, of love and of lies, The Muslim Prince is worth a listen, especially with Craig Bowles narrating.

Mind blowing!
This isn't my first encounter with the imagination of Roger Ley, and I assure you it won't be my last. I don't know where he gets his ideas from but I am so glad he writes them down. This story takes you on a journey you won't be expecting. I was listening with my politically correct head on, but my heart kept thinking, 'don't mess with the monarchy'. I was never sure who's side I was on, as I kept switching allegiance all over the place. Wonderfully narrated by the enormously talented Craig Bowles, this book will leave you with a lot to think about. I've listened to it twice now and I'll be revisiting it again. Clever, inspired and brilliantly executed - this is one not to be missed.

This story has everything, drama, romance, politics, religion, however there is just enough of each of these aspects so you won't get bored by any of it.
The author has portrayed a fantastic twist and has told a brilliant story of what life would habe been like if princess Diana had not died!
The story made me smile, and cry!! I loved the interaction between Camilla and Diana...always wondered what Diana would have thought of Camellia being the queen.
So if you've ever wondered what it would have been like if Diana lived and married a Muslim Dodi and the future of the monarchy then this is the book for you!!
I just want to end with a few words for the narrator!! I Iisten to a lot of audio books. this guy was amazing. From articulating Arabic words/phrases, accents and different voices...he made the words come alive and I could imagine each scene playing out as a movie. fantastic!

Another great listen. So believable
I listened to this book after listening to the first one in the series (they don't follow but are interlinked), it added to the background of the story and I was so intrigued to get more information which enhanced my understanding of the first book.
I could potentially understand how this could have happened remembering the hysteria when Diana died.
My only criticism, and this is selfish, is I wanted more of the story - I didn't want it to stop.
Can't forget to mention that the narrator just added an extra layer to the story.
I am following both author and narrator now.
I was given a free copy by the author in exchange for an honest review which I have done.

What would happen if she didn’t die?
I love Rogers book (especially as my husband appears to be a time traveller in one of them) and was not disappointed with this one. In this story we look at what would happen if Princess Diana had not died and has married Dodi Fayed. Add into the mix her Grandson who although next in line to the thrown wants to convert to Islam. This story defiantly makes you think and although I would hope in reality as a country we would not be so narrow minded I do feel that a lot of the issues and concerns raised in this book would still be prevalent if this was to occur. I really enjoyed the story and it certainly makes you think.

Not to be missed!
What an excellent novel! I heard it in one session as I just had to know what was going to happen. Yes, this story is very plausible, fast paced and entertaining whilst also giving the reader lots of food for thought.
The author Roger Ley is very knowledgeable both about British Culture as well as Arabic culture and his imagination is top notch. I will not go into the story, for as it says on the cover “What if Diana hadn’t died?”
Craig Bowles is an excellent narrator too and brings the story to life beautifully.

What if......
Loved this alternate reality and such an interesting concept. Makes you think. One wee character deserves its own story too. Thoroughly enjoyed this. Recommended quick listen
