Anna is the newest member of an elite ballet company. Her first class with her mysterious idol Victoria almost ruins her career before it starts. When she shows she might be a potential star, Victoria chooses Anna to launch a new season around.

Now Anna must face down jealousy, sabotage, and injury, not to mention navigate the circus of friends and lovers within the company. The pressure builds as she knows she must pour everything she has into opening night and prove to her rivals and herself that Victoria’s faith in her is not misplaced.

In the process, Anna discovers that she and the daring, beautiful Victoria have a lot more than a talent for ballet in common, and that not every thrilling dance can be found on stage.

First of all: I just wanted to say that I’ve read this book 5-6 times cover to cover. I recently downloaded Audible and saw that this was available to listen to. The Music and the Mirror was my first purchase. I instantly fell in love with the narrator’s style and the different inflections she put in her voice with all of the characters.
The story is beautifully crafted; with its twists, turns, and drama, this is one you cannot pass by. This book made me laugh, gasp, and almost cry when it finally came to an end. I wasn’t sad about the ending…just that it ended. I could follow Anna and Victoria’s story line until they were both senior citizens.
Do yourself a favor: pick this up now. You won’t regret it!

My favorite book

It took awhile for me to warm up to the two MCs relationship. Victoria was a real witch and Anna was very immature in the first half of the book. In the end they were perfect together. I liked the side characters and their relationships with the MCs. I feel that there were a few characters that need AA due to their pills and booze. Has some spice and a HEA.

Decent story

This is one of those books that I loved reading and love even more listening to.
Palpable chemistry between the main characters and a glimpse into the world of professional ballet dancers I've known nothing about, but found fascinating. The narration enhances the story further - it's among my favourite audiobooks.p

I fell in love with this book and have read it countless times. The budding romance between Anna and Victoria throughout the story is not at all rushed and flowed quite nicely. I enjoyed Anna's growth and increasing boldness throughout the story. I do wish I had learned more about Victoria than was revealed but I have also been hoping for a sequel that may delve into her more. The supporting characters: Jess, Irina, Delphine, Gabriel, Ethan, etc were all just as engaging and made the story hard to put down. I've been waiting for the Audible version to come out and will definitely keep my eyes and ears open for more from Lola Keeley, who is a phenomenal writer.

The narrator was not entirely what I was looking for but she didn't at all take away from the story. I was honestly hoping Stephanie Murphy had been chosen to narrate as she has a nack for making a story really come alive with her voice changes and the passion she pours into the stories she narrates.

I'm in love!❤
