Publisher's Summary

It kills....

On a hot summer night in Montauk, the bodies of two local bar patrons are discovered in the dunes, torn to shreds, their identities unrecognizable....

It breeds....

In another part of town, a woman's backyard is invaded by four terrifying creatures that defy any kind of description. What's clear is that they're hostile - and they're ravenous....

It spreads....

With every sunset, the terror rises again, infecting residents with a virus no one can cure. The CDC can't help them; FEMA can't save them. But each savage attack brings Suffolk County Police Officer Gray Dalton one step closer to the shocking source of these unholy creations. Hidden on nearby Plum Island, a US research facility has been running top-secret experiments. What they created was never meant to see the light of day. Now, a vacation paradise is going straight to hell.

Entertaining creature feature.

This was quite an enjoyable listen. The voice cast was good and the story solid and enjoyable.

Great Story, Off Performance

Great writing and story from Shea, per usual. The performance of the "actors" was less than stellar. One of the lead male roles has an obvious speech impediment and for about half the book, the narrator sounds as though he has marbles in his mouth.

I don't necessarily think you should skip this one as the writing is awesome. Just be ready to be pulled out of the story from time to time by the actors.

great but depressing

I loved it though I would have changed events at the ending. I highly recommend.

Definitely a must listen!!!

This book doesn’t disappoint; it’s action packed, entertaining, and has a well thought out backstory. Since this book is a graphic novel; I believe that’s just the cherry on. This book deserves to be on the list of other great monster novels. 10/10 would recommend.

My First Dramatized Book

I'm going to check to see what other dramatized books there ate because this one was very entertaining. Good story and performances.

So fun!

I really enjoyed this "audiomovie." The acting & sound effects were perfectly calibrated to enhance the enjoyment of this story. This was not an intellectual experience, but rather, was a well done, light confection, that was a perfect vaycay read...a bit of "creepy-creature-threatens-normal-folks" fun, one might find in a Twilight Zone episode, but better.

Content overshadowed by cacophonic background.

I had read the book and found it well written and with great creatures, so I was very interested in the dramatized adaptation.

Unfortunately, while the voice actors were excellent, it was next to impossible to clearly hear what they were saying over the multiple and near-constant background sound inserts. My ears detected no sense of audio balance.

Too bad! This could have been a real winner.

Not great

Despite being hilariously cheesey in some scenes this was not a fun listen. The audio quality was extremely inconsistent throughout and the sound effects were pretty distracting at times.
I swear to god that sex scene with the porno music and moaning was so horrendously cringey I had to turn it off.
Not the best use of a credit unfortunately.

very eventful

This is a graphic audio production, so you can be assured the performance is 100%. the story itself is inspired by the 'real' montauk monster, which you can google if you like.
i really enjoyed it. It starts off on a fairly standard creature feature adventure (which i happen to love) but by the end, it becomes a calamity of truly epic proportions. it's quite the adventure, with a surprisingly large body count. Very enjoyable.
