Professor Thomas F. Madden is a widely published author and the director of the Center for Medieval and Renaissance Studies at Saint Louis University. In The Lost Warriors of God, Madden examines one of the most fascinating organizations in world history: the Knights Templar, whose members gave up home, family, and worldly possessions to defend the Holy Land and the Christian pilgrims who journeyed there.

Amazing and TRUE! No more conspiracy theories.

The Templars are often shrouded in myths and legends. It is nice to get a factual and historical look at what the Templars really were.

Short but wonderful Madden gem

Prof. Madden is one of my favorite history lecturers and this one is no exception. If you have any interest in the Crusades or the Middle Ages, you will find this fascinating. Madden gives an impartial look and has a soothing lecturing voice. My only complaint was that it ended too soon!

Great survey!

Interesting as usual. This is a good follow up to topics mentioned in "Heaven or Heresy" and The New Concise History of the Crusades. And, I like the back ground info provided regarding recent overrated novels and movies tied to Templar History. I'm not surprised. Worth the listen.

Enjoyable and Interesting

So much drama around the Templars. This no-frills lecture series lays a good ground work of history all the while dispelling the myth.

Very well done, and informative

The narrator and information is very straightforward, and explained well. I listened mostly while walking or driving and learned a lot. It answered almost all my questions I had about the Templars, and I learned a lot about the Crusades from this. Definitely recommended for any student of history.

Extremely informative!

I have read about everything I can get my hands on, concerning Templar History, and this is by far the most entertaining. Professor Madden is an immensely talented communicator! He delivers the thrilling history in the most exciting way!

The difference between a fraternity and a club.

Club: : an association of persons for some common object usually jointly supported and meeting periodically
also : a group identified by some common characteristic
Fraternity: a group of people associated or formally organized for a common purpose, interest, or pleasure: such as
a : a fraternal order
b : GUILD sense 1
c : a men's student organization formed chiefly for social purposes having secret rites and a name consisting of Greek letters
See the difference, Freemasonry is a fraternity not a club.
You had me until you decided to be so condescending towards me and my other brothers.

Mainly just Un referenced opinions

Starts well but dwindles into unreferenced opinions, some of which have been proven to the contrary with factual evidence in many other books on the subject.
