Publisher's summary

It was just supposed to be one time. So why can't she stop thinking about him?

Opal Whittaker had an itch, and she thought Archer Crawford was just the man to scratch it. No strings. No expectations. He was going to help her take her mind off things for a little while.

Only problem is, she can't get him out of her head.

Archer is used to making questionable decisions. In a family of overachievers, he's an average guy and nobody expects too much of him. Why shouldn't the new gal in town come looking to him when she wanted to knock boots?

Even after a rendezvous with skunk, a grouchy cat with a soft spot for scruffy men, and a dramatic family Christmas, Archer is bound and determined to win Opal's heart.

Can Archer ever earn Opal's trust? Will she ever think of him as anything more than a fling?

Cascade is Book 3 of the series following the Crawford family through the quirky town of Oak Creek. If you like nosy neighbors, hilarious antics, and scorching hot love scenes, then you'll devour this sizzling romance by Lainey Davis.

Enjoyable story, fascinating narration

As someone who is fairly new to audiobooks, I just want to say that the number of different voices that Lee Daniels used were fascinating to me. The story of Opal and Archer kept me interested the entire time, and I actually felt very in tune with the characters. I enjoy when a story alternates perspective and followed the flow of the story easily.

Fantastic Story🎧📚🎧 A Captivating, Steamy Delight!

I am loving the “Oak Creek” series, the characters are awesome and their stories are amazing. This third book is Archer Crawford and Opal Whittaker’s story. Archer is the accountant in Oak Creek, he does the taxes for a number of residents and businesses in town. He, is not as quirky as the other Crawfords but he does have a bit of a quirky side and a personality all his own. Opal, a midwife, is conducting research she has a multi-year grant for her study, visiting patients in their homes a year after birthing, following up on their care. She wants to prove the benefits of better care to change the way health insurance funds care for families. Opal is smart, educated and dedicated to her work but she has personal issues, insecurities and low self-esteem that prevent her from having close relationships, friend and/or lover. One night in the local bar she battles with a shot of whiskey, to drink or not to drink, when Archer sits next to her and asks her a question. The two hit it off and Opal wind up having a sizzling hot night together. Opal is straight up with him, she is not looking for anything but a one night stand. But she can not get him out of her head, plus he quiets the noise of all her thoughts in her head. I loved these two together, they were perfect for each other. Archer admires her smarts when she talks about her study, she even got Hunter on board. Archer was not going to give up on her but Opal needed to learn to let go of what her past did to her and her guilt. Then she could love herself and allow herself to love. Lainey Davis is a master at heartwarming romances with some small town charm, some quirky humor, great camaraderie amongst friends, some steamy hot romance and a story that has a whole lot of heart. Thank you for another awesome story, I am looking forward to the next book in this wonderful series, Fletcher’s story.

Lee Daniels is a terrific narrator and voice artist. She continues to bring these characters to life, giving them their voices and personality. You could hear how much heart she puts into her work as she captures the characters emotions and projects them into her performance. She is an entertaining storyteller and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another great listen🎧

Small Town Romance!

This is the third book in the Oak Creek Series, a small town romance. Opal and Archer's story is fun, sweet, sexy/steamy, and emotional. The storyline is interesting, slow paced, and filled with drama. Lee Daniels has a great voice, easy to understand. I was given a free review copy of the audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review. #storyorigin

This was a very sweet story of Opal and Archer. I enjoyed the book but it did take me a while to get into. However I am glad I stick it out and really enjoyed this story and characters.

Archer and Opal

Had a hard time with this one. I like the H, but the h was a bit over the top to take. I had a hard time connecting these two and the h was hard to take with character. I over rated it because I like Archer as a book Boyfriend, and was up for the sexy times but he probably could have used a bit more dominance with her. I enjoyed the narrators touch as well as the storyline.

Opal and Archer

This is the 3rd in the series but the first one I have listened to. This was a sassy steamy hot romance. I loved the other characters along with Opal and Archer. It was a journey to their HEA but it was swoon worthy for sure. I will be continuing with this sweet series and even going back to the first book. Lee Daniels does a great job.

Fun and healing romance!

This romance was fun and the character progression and healing by both protagonists really refreshing. I adore the Crawford siblings and their (mostly) healthy relationships!

Opal and Asher!

Good narration. Good character development. I enjoyed this sweet romance. She definitely has issues it takes the whole book to work through and Asher has the payoff a saint as she uses him as a booty call. Asher is fine with this until he realizes that he has feelings for Opal and needs her. By the time Opal sees how absorbed into his family she is, really it’s to late. HEA
