Very good story, a good read for anyone.

I had to read this book for a literature class that I'm currently attending, but it turned out to be pretty good. The author does a great job of making someone feel many different meanings within the book. After a discussion in class it was amazing the number of differing viewpoints and what we took away from this read. Overall a good classic read.

The best short story ever

Just the word Kafkaesque tells it all. Incredible piece of writing to change literature forever.

Poor Production values!

The book is not professionally produced. Or the transfer. It gets extremely quiet 1/3 of the way through. Then goes loud. Then quiet. I’ve found the same issue with this company on other books. I love the story, but kinda would like my money back as the production values are so poor. Kafka was a master.

Horrible performance

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I would NOT recommend this recording. I love this story, but this particular performance is so bad I can't even finish a two hour book. Perhaps the audio editing is to blame, but it's extremely obvious that they cut out all the pauses and, in turn, the text is just one huge run-on sentence! There are no breaths, breaks or pauses. It's exhausting to listen to.

What did you like best about this story?

The words and story are phenomenal. This edition/recording is horrible.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

There is odd emphasis on the wrong words, and all the breaks, breaths and pauses have been removed. The beginning of the book is great, but from about 45 mins on, the whole story is a run-on sentence and you can't follow what is happening anymore.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

Absolutely.
