I am very impressed that the authors recorded the book themselves. It adds a layer of authenticity and genuineness.

Great book on marriage.

Just like their other books, this looks at marriage with Biblically sound teaching and good contemporary information. Planning to lead some couples through it in our church.

Fascinating- Blow you mind with Statistics

What you believe when you get married has a strong corelation with how happy you are in marriage! They break it all down. They talk about talk about if you believe that one spouse has authority over another spouse due to gender roles when you marry years later you are more likely to say you experience pain daily... what??? read this.... I now believe what they are saying. I've lead marriage groups for many years. I believe in marriage, I love being married... 24 years and I'm still working on it but it's all worth it! Read this book, buy it for your friends! Lead a small group, make a difference in this world for generations to come by changing marriage!

The book I needed years ago!

I read it in 4 hours and can’t wait to read through it again! This is the marriage book I needed years ago! So many marriage books we read and studied and they didn’t help or made things worse! This book is full of guiding principles for marriage that are evidence based (peer reviewed studies), adaptable to your unique situation, and just practical! I already purchased the study guide and cannot wait to lead a small group from church through this book!

Well researched. The stuff you need to hear.

Book does a great job at explaining mental load, and how it plays a crucial step in life balance. Highly recommend listening together with spouse and stopping periodically and discussing the book! Listening together has brought us closer!

The only Christian marriage book I would recommend

This marriage book is based on actual studies. It addresses the toxic teachings that are in all the popular Christian marriage books, and shows how they damage marriages and people.

This book also talks about workload and mental load in a marriage and how huge the impact of these are on a marriage.

And this book shows what does work, what is relevant, and what will help you build a happy, healthy, enjoyable marriage.

Do yourself a favor and throw away all the Christian marriage books on your shelves, and replace them with this one. You won’t be sorry.

The marriage book I wish I had 37 years ago

Shelia and Keith have done their research! Understanding the importance of unity, teamwork, mutual passion, closeness, and friendship with practical applications and thought provoking questions. A MUST a read.

I liked: informed, well-supported, and touching (the story of working hard on the marriage and kids).

Where to improve: Rarely, but sometimes just a few more specific details could help us with deeper clarity on areas that may be a bit confusing.
