Unimpressed with Diego’s passionless efforts to win her affections, Lolita finds herself attracted to the dashing and courageous Zorro. With the Pulido family having been impoverished by the corrupt governor, her father would see her married to the rich Don Diego. At the same time, the nobly born but morally dissolute Captain Ramón has also taken an interest in the fair señorita, making matters worse. As tensions heighten between Ramón and the Pulido family and pursuit of the masked avenger intensifies, Zorro leaves his mark on those who would perpetrate injustice.

Over the Top Fun

It's sometimes easy to forget just how much fun Zorro really is, even with all the cheese of the genre and the naivete of the story. But as a lifelong fan of the character, I keep coming back time and again to sample the different versions, and invariably I walk away with a big grin when I find one like this. Zorro is best when played straight, even if the story around him is over the top, and Val Kilmer deserves high praise for pulling it off in classic style. If you know the story, have fun with this take on it. If not (how is that possible?!), this is about as good of an introduction as you could ask for.

So much fun!

One of the best! An amazing cast including Val Kilmer mixed with music and great sound effects. I gave this a listen after I noticed it was nominated for a Grammy and it did not disappoint!

Wonderful Production of Classic Tale

This was a wonderful audio drama of the classic tale of Zorro. The cast was wonderful and the production was top notch. Val Kilmer was wonderful as Zorro. Full of old fashioned twists and turns, this was a delight from start to finish.

Fantastic performance

Great audio drama. reminded me of the old radio shows, but with better quality. Story is good, but needed a better ending.

Sequels needed

Great performance wish they would read the entire series. A little bit of everything in this story. Action, adventure, romance enough to keep the whole family entertained.

An excellent adventure story

Full of humor, snark and action, this audiobook is well worth the listen, though it alters a few things from McCulley's original version. The most notable alteration, and the only reason I gave this particular version 4 stars instead of 5, is that it entirely skips the d??nouement, a.k.a. the last couple pages of the written version. Audio listeners thus miss out on Zorro's reveal, which entirely changes the end of the story. It's a shame, really, because this is otherwise a gloriously fun recording.

Perfection!

Such a fun production of a great book. Love the full cast, would highly recommend a listen.

Val Kilmer Kills It!!

Val Kilmer is an excellent choice for Zorro in this book! Honestly, I wish there were more books with him narrating! He plays the 'gentlemanly' Don and the Masked Crusader perfectly, each with distinctive flair!

The other cast is also very well done! For the non-native Spanish speaker, it can be a little tricky in the beginning as some characters' accents are often pretty thick for some characters, but as you stick to it, you'll get the hang of it.
