This story follows an enigmatic private investigator drawn into a tangled web of deception and murder. A chance meeting with a mysterious man who has an uncanny affection for dogs leads the protagonist into a case filled with unexpected twists and hidden motives. As the layers of the mystery unravel, Chandler's signature blend of tension, wit, and vivid characterization keeps readers on edge until the final page.

Set against the shadowy backdrop of 1930s Los Angeles, The Man Who Liked Dogs paints a vivid picture of a city teeming with secrets and danger. Chandler's prose captures the atmospheric tension of the era, immersing readers in a world of smoky bars, dimly lit alleys, and double-crossing players.

Perfect for fans of classic detective fiction, this story showcases Chandler's unparalleled ability to weave gripping mysteries that linger in the reader's mind long after the last line. The Man Who Liked Dogs is a must-read for anyone who loves sharp storytelling and timeless noir.

Story was enjoyable; language isn't peak Chandler but still has flashes. Reader has a good voice but a terribly distracting vocal tic in which he raises his tone at the end of many sentences. Reading is early Librivox quality, if that helps.

This is a short story that Raymond Chamdler canibalized in "Murder My Sweet," and which is worth listening to on its own. The reader is good. but I am not sure if he pronounces the detectives name correctly.
