A voice replica is a computer-generated voice created by a narrator to sound like their voice.

Ryia managed to escape being sacrificed body and soul to the men of the hills and their ruthless leader Brahms only to now find herself at the mercy of Lord Gavin Degrey.

They call Lord Gavin Degrey the Lord of War but must everything, including romance, involve combat? Was there an actual man capable of loving a woman behind the Lord’s cold eye or had he become the embodiment of war itself and what would that mean for Ryia?

A short life lived in fear behind the walls of the Keep or a short life beyond its walls and at the mercy of a creature who had no concept of the word. Ryia was just a pleasant girl, other than a base physical appeal nothing special and if that was the case why could Lord Degrey not stop thinking about her.

About the curve of her hips, the fullness of her breast, the way that her breath would catch and her skin would flush before she gave in to her anger? Why was it that he was suddenly willing to start a war rather than letting her go?

This is volume one of a five-volume saga.

The only regret I have with this book, is that I wish I could have read it, instead of listening to it. The audiobook was just a little choppy for me.

Now I read this book solely based on the cover and title; and I am so glad I did! This story has multiple point of views and they are all so well written. I honestly think the different perspectives really made the story and plot all come together. Along with the great plot, there is some romantic tension between two of the characters and just wait until chapter 25, it will make you giddy!!

Overall, the Maiden and the War Lord is full of adventure, passion and great banter. I cannot wait for book 2 to come out! Add this book to your TBR ASAP!!.

Wow, I think she’s very lucky to get to the castle and I most definitely do not like her village and I most definitely do not like the tree people or whatever you wanna call them crazy men but it’s still a great book.

"The Maiden and the Lord of War," Book 1, has completely captivated me from beginning to end! The storytelling is incredibly engaging, drawing the reader into a world that is both vibrant and believable. I was particularly impressed by the author's superb writing style, which effortlessly transports you to another time and place. Furthermore, the characters are not only memorable but also deeply enjoyable, each with their own unique quirks and compelling motivations. I found myself completely immersed in their world, eagerly anticipating each new chapter and desperately wanting to know what would happen next. This is a book I would highly recommend to anyone looking for an unforgettable reading experience.

The Maiden and the Lord of War by A.J. Deville is Riya and Gavin’s story. They find connection in the midst of turbulent times. Lord Gavin Degrey is known as the Lord of War. Riya tries to understand Lord Gavin Degrey, knowing his reputation. I thought the world building was well done and draws readers into the story.

I look forward to the next book of the series.

I would have liked to hear the narrator’s voice in the narration rather than a voice replica to enhance the emotions of the characters.

The Maiden and the Lord of War by A. J. Deville is an excellent adventure historical fantasy. Ann Russek’s voice replica did a ok job with the narration, but I would have liked for the narrator to have read it. The story is entertaining, interesting, enjoyable, action packed, thrilling, and more. The Maiden and the Lord of War is the first book in The Maiden and the Lord of War series.
