Sweet story

This was a very heartwarming story of a mother and daughter. A very light listening experience with enjoyable charm.

Interesting...

An interesting short story but it felt like it needed to be longer. The characters were interesting enough to hold my attention and the narration was decent.

A very enjoyable listen

A short but interesting story about a mother caught between what she loves doing and the question of whether it’s time to retire.

Short story greatness.

Being the first in a series of stories titled 'Good Intentions Collection,' has me hopeful for the next one in the series. Each story is done by a different author. "The Magician" hones in on a snippet of life - a daughter pregnant with her first child and her mother who is moving from New York to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Their first time so far away from each other. How Ms. Serle manages to pack in so much mother-daughter nuances of worry, irritation, knowledge, respect and love in a short story amazes me. For me, a clearly five-star read.
