Publisher's Summary

In the stillness of space, several asteroids disappear in the 82 G. Eridani System. Time passes and space wavers, and the missing asteroids reappear. They’re traveling at near-light-speed for the single populated planet. Nuclear-tipped missiles from the lone battleship fail to stop the asteroids, which crash against the planet, turning it into rubble and killing the 650 million inhabitants.

Someone has found and now tested the perfect planet killer, an ancient device that turns asteroids and icy planetesimals into world-destroying projectiles. Earth is a mere 20 light-years away. But who’s to say the hidden weapon will head there next? It can go anywhere in the commonwealth and destroy any world.

Star Watch is desperate, employing every ship, every scientist, and everyone, including the crew of Victory, to defend the planets.

Captain Maddox, Professor Ludendorff, and others must put aside every difference and concentrate on finding a weakness in the ultimate weapon, one they can exploit. Otherwise - the alternative is too stark to contemplate. It is time to pull together and think and fight like never before.

The Lost Tech is the 13th book in the Lost Starship series.

Great!

May not be the greatest Sci fi but I still loved it. Keep the series going well worth the money . Not sure why Auditable does not listed Lost Tech. under the lost starship series. They would have +20 times the reviews. Auditable should have a follow series button! Can’t know what you don’t know!!!

More development toward an overall premise, please

I am beginning to suspect that this is yet another author who can never seem to finish what he has started. The best sci-fi series are those that come to a resolution, or at least a major waypoint, that can at least serve as a satisying end point, while still leaving room to explore in other directions, if need be.

Lacking Character Substance

I have enjoyed each book in the series, but I have to add a exception to this book.

The dialogue and character interaction has become so tedious to get through and the amount of 'fill' where history is narrated over and over was so unnecessary I stopped listening mid-book, I ended up listening to another book and then came back to this one, eventually finishing it.

This is still a viable story with much potential, but the interactions and character development has not progressed as well as the storyline. I would argue that the dialogue has gotten so bad it is actually causing the series to be less enjoyable than previous installments.

worst book in the series so far

I love this series. but this book wasn't very good. the story arc didnt seem thought out to me it honestly would have been better if developed as 3 small novellas. at times it seemed that someone else was writing it also. (it just seemed different than the other books.) I will keep buying the books and listening intently. but this one was definitely not my favorite.
